Biyouna
Baya Bouzar ( ar, باية بوزار, 13 September 1952), known by the stage name Biyouna () is an Algerian singer, dancer, actress born in Belcourt, now known as Belouizdad, Algiers, Algeria. Early life Having a very early passion for singing, she was a member of several groups: first in Fadhéla Dziria's group where she played tambourine, another that she directed with her partner Flifla, and finally her own where she was the main vocalist and became sought after for wedding receptions. At the age of 17, she began performing in some of the biggest cabarets in the city and at 19 started dancing at the Copacabana. Acting career That same year, the director Mustapha Badie gave her a singing part in his first soap opera, ''La Grande Maison (1973)'', where she played Fatma. This show was adapted from a novel by Mohamed Dib. She became well-known thanks to this role. Fadhéla Dziria, officially Fadhéla Madani Bent el-Mahdi (25 Jun 1917 – 6 October 1970) was an Algerian singer in the Hawzi style of Andalusian classical music. Her first name is also seen as ''Fadila'', ''Fadhila'', or ''Fadela'', and her chosen last name as ''Dziriya''. ''Dziria'' means ''Algerian''—so she was, professionally, "Fadhéla the Algerian". Career Fadhéla Dziria was born in Algiers, the daughter of Mehdi Ben Abderrahmane and Fettouma Khelfaoui. She was first heard singing on the radio in Algeria. In the 1930s, she was a young cabaret singer in Paris. She returned to Algeria, and sang at the Cafe des Sports. She began making recordings in the 1940s, mostly of traditional folk songs. Mohamed Belouizdad ( ar, بلوزداد) is a quarter of Algiers, Algeria in Algiers Province. The quarter was formerly known as Belcourt during the French colonisation period. It was renamed as Hamma-El Annasser ( ar, الحامة-العناصر) after Algerian independence, before the present name Belouizdad was adopted in 1992 in honour of the Algerian militant and nationalist Mohamed Belouizdad who lived in the quarter. ''Le Chat'' (French for "the cat") was a Belgian daily comic strip, created by Philippe Geluck and published in the newspaper ''Le Soir'' from March 22, 1983, until March 23, 2013. During its run, it quickly became one of the bestselling Franco-Belgian comics series and the mascot of ''Le Soir''. While virtually an icon in Wallonia, he is far less well known in Flanders.
