Biedronka
Biedronka is a chain of supermarkets. It is the largest chain of discount shops in Poland with 3,283 stores as of 2022 and 70,000 employees (2022). It is owned by the Portuguese group Jerónimo Martins. The name "Biedronka" means "ladybug", and a cartoon ladybug is the company's logo. Biedronka sells mainly local products, many of which are manufactured under the company's own label. It also sells some Portuguese-made products, mostly wine. Initially targeted at lower-income customers, it is now one of the most popular supermarket chains in Poland. Biedronka has had a dominant position in Poland's grocery retail market for over a decade, and its main competitor in Poland is Lidl. Mariusz Świtalski
Mariusz Świtalski (born 19 May 1962) is a Polish people, Polish entrepreneur. He is the founder of Elektromis, Eurocash, Biedronka, Żabka (convenience store), Żabka, Małpka Express and has been named as one of the richest people in Poland by Wprost, Wprost weekly. Biography and Career He grew up in various orphanages, the longest in a house run by nuns in Szamotuły. He graduated from a 2-year vocational school in plumbing. In the 80s he traded at the Poznań trade fair, at the end of the 1980s he specialized in coffee making and then in computer hardware distribution. Jerónimo Martins SGPS, SA (JM) is a Portuguese corporate group that operates in food distribution and specialised retail. It operates more than 4,900 stores in Portugal, Poland, and Colombia. Kostrzyn (german: Kostschin) is a town in Poland, seat of Gmina Kostrzyn in the Poznań County in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, with 8,398 inhabitants (2004). Plus (German Supermarket)
Plus was a German multinational discount supermarket chain founded in 1972. It operated 2,840 stores in Germany with an approximate 27,000 employees and about 1,200 stores in several other European countries. The retail model was to sell low-cost groceries with no expense incurred for display or marketing of products. Groceries were stored in the shipping cartons they came in, rather than being stacked on shelves. Piecki (german: Peitschendorf) is a village in Mrągowo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Piecki. Milanówek
Milanówek is a town and a seat of a separate gmina, commune in Poland. Located next to the Grodzisk Mazowiecki County near Warsaw, it is often considered an outlying suburb of the capital of Poland but is in fact an independent entity administratively and culturally. Białystok
