Bharath Bala is an Indian film director, screenwriter and film producer based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Career Bharat Bala produced the acclaimed album ''Vande Mataram'' and '' Jana Gana Mana Video'' and heads BharatBala Productions based in Chennai. He directed a short film ''Hari Om'' in 2004. He was set to direct and produce Indo-Japanese film, co-produced by Disney, called ''The 19th Step'', written by and starring Kamal Haasan, but the film was later shelved. ''Maryan'' (pronounced ''Mariyāņ''; ) is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Bharat Bala, and produced by Venu Ravichandran, under the banner Aascar Films, starring Dhanush and Parvathy Thiruvothu. The film has music and background score composed by A. R. Rahman; cinematography and editing were done by Marc Koninckx and Vivek Harshan respectively. The dialogues in the film were penned by Joe D' Cruz. Oscar-award winner Resul Pookutty was the sound designer of the film. ''Maryan'' is an emotional journey of a common man to an unknown place with the hope to come home and lead a better life. The film's title represents the character as "a man who never dies". ''Vande Mataram'' is a 1997 studio album by Indian musician A. R. Rahman. It is Sony Music India's largest-selling non-film album to date. It released on 12 August 1997 by Sony's music labels Columbia Records and SME Records. It was released on the Golden Jubilee anniversary of India's independence and has been instrumental in instilling a sense of patriotic pride and national unity amongst the people of India. Kamal Haasan (born 7 November 1954) is an Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, playback singer, television presenter and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema and has also appeared in some Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Bengali films. The 2010 Commonwealth Games (Hindi: 2010 राष्ट्रमण्डल खेल), officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010, was an international multi-sport event that was held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010.
