Bengaluru Football Club () is an Indian professional football club based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was established on 20 July 2013, and began its first competitive season in the I-League on 22 September the same year. Since its inception, the club has won two I-League titles including one in its debut season, two Federation Cup titles, one Indian Super League title, and a Super Cup championship making it fourth-most successful club in Indian football. The club is owned and operated by the Mumbai-based company JSW Group and its managing director Sajjan Jindal. Bangalore has played its home matches at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium since the beginning of the 2014–15 season. Despite only playing four seasons in the I-League, the club was considered one of the model clubs of Indian football. Sree Kanteerava Stadium
Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, also known as Sampangi Outdoor Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bangalore, India. It houses a running track, a volleyball court, and two outdoor rock climbing walls. The stadium is owned by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka. It is the largest sporting complex in Bangalore. Renamed after Yuvaraja Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar, the stadium, constructed on the bed of the Sampangi Lake, was inaugurated in 1946 by his son Maharaja Jayachamaraja Wadiyar. The 2016 AFC Cup Final was the final match of the 2016 AFC Cup, the 13th edition of the AFC Cup, a football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from 'developing countries' in Asia according to the Vision Asia plan. The final was contested as a single match between Iraqi team Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Indian team Bengaluru FC. The match was hosted by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on 5 November 2016. The 2016 AFC Cup was the 13th edition of the AFC Cup, Asia's secondary club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya defeated Bengaluru FC in the final to win their first AFC Cup title, becoming the first Iraqi team to win the competition. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. Clubs from Kuwait have won four titles, making them the most successful nation in the competition. 2018 Indian Super Cup
The 2018 Hero Super Cup was the inaugural edition of the Super Cup (India), Super Cup and 39th season of the main club Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in India. The competition is sponsored by Hero MotoCorp and is officially known as the Hero Super Cup. The competition began with the qualifiers on 15 March 2018 and concluded with the final on 20 April 2018. The entire tournament took place in the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The competition features teams from both the I-League and Indian Super League. 2016–17 Indian Federation Cup
The 2016–17 Indian Federation Cup was the 38th edition of the Federation Cup, the main domestic football cup competition in India. The top eight teams from the 2016–17 I-League season will participate in the tournament which will be hosted solely in Cuttack, Odisha. The tournament is set to take place between 7 May to 21 May 2017. Mohun Bagan are the defending champions. 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup
The 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup, also known as the Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 36th edition of the Federation Cup, the main national football cup competition in India. Ten of the eleven I-League clubs participated in the tournament the season with Bharat FC being the excluded club. Churchill Brothers were the reigning champions of the Federation Cup, having won the tournament in 2014, however, due to failing to pass the licensing criteria for the I-League, they were unable to defend their title. All matches including the semi final and final were played in Goa. The final was played between Dempo and Bengaluru FC on 11 January 2015. 2018–19 Indian Super League Season
The 2018–19 Indian Super League season was the fifth season of the Indian Super League, one of the top Indian professional football leagues. It was established in 2013. The regular season began on 29 September 2018 and concluded on 17 March 2019. The league took a mid-season break for around one month from 17 December 2018 to early January 2019 due to India's participation in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. Chennaiyin were the defending champions, having defeated Bengaluru in the 2018 final, however they did not qualify for the playoffs having finished the last in the regular season. 2015–16 I-League
The 2015–16 I-League was the ninth season of the I-League, the Indian professional football league, since its establishment in 2007. The season commenced on 9 January 2016, after the Indian Super League finished, and concluded on 24 April 2016. Bengaluru FC won their second I-League title after winning their first title in 2013–14. The defending champions Mohun Bagan finished second. The 2013–14 I-League (known as the ''Airtel I-League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the seventh season of the I-League, the top-tier Indian professional league for football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 21 September 2013, and ended on 28 April 2014. Churchill Brothers were the defending champions, having won their second I-League title in the previous season.
