2014–15 Indian Federation Cup
The 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup, also known as the Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 36th edition of the Federation Cup, the main national football cup competition in India. Ten of the eleven I-League clubs participated in the tournament the season with Bharat FC being the excluded club. Churchill Brothers were the reigning champions of the Federation Cup, having won the tournament in 2014, however, due to failing to pass the licensing criteria for the I-League, they were unable to defend their title. All matches including the semi final and final were played in Goa. The final was played between Dempo and Bengaluru FC on 11 January 2015. Bengaluru FC beat Dempo 2–1 to clinch their maiden Federation Cup title. The Federation Cup (also known as Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was an annual knockout football competition in Indian football which started in 1977. From its inception, until I-League was started in 1997 (then called NFL), it was the most prestigious national level club football tournament in India. Until 2017, it was the most important club tournament after the I-League, to which it became a ''de facto'' League Cup. Winner of the Federation Cup was given direct entry in the AFC Cup. The holders of the 2017 Federation Cup were Bengaluru who beat Mohun Bagan 2–0 in the 2017 final held in Cuttack, Odisha. Robin Singh (born 9 May 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bangalore Super Division club SC Bengaluru. Club career Early career Born in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Singh started playing cricket and football at an academy in Noida at the age of nine years. He played with them at many youth tournaments. He started playing his football with former Indian footballer, Anadi Barua. Eugeneson Lyngdoh (born 10 September 1986) is a member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly representing the Mawphlang constituency. He is also a former Indian footballer who lastly played as a midfielder for Indian Super League side East Bengal. Tilak Maidan is a multi-use stadium located in Vasco da Gama, Goa, India. It is used mostly for football matches and regularly hosts matches in the I-League as well as Goa Professional League.
