Belgian Railway Line 96
The Belgian railway line 96 is a railway line in Belgium connecting Brussels to Quévy at the border with France. A railway line then connects Quévy to Paris, France, which forms the old Brussels-Paris railway line. The line is used by TGV, Thalys trains and Eurostar trains between Brussels and Lembeek. The first section of line 96 opened in 1840 between Brussels and Tubize. The final section between Hautmont and the Belgian-French border was opened in 1858. Brussels-South Railway Station
Brussels-South railway station (french: Gare de Bruxelles-Midi, nl, Station Brussel-Zuid, IATA code: ZYR), officially Brussels-South (french: Bruxelles-Midi, link=no, nl, Brussel-Zuid, link=no), is a major railway station in Brussels, Belgium. Geographically, it is located in Saint-Gilles/Sint-Gillis on the border with the adjacent municipality of Anderlecht and just south of the City of Brussels. The Halle train collision (also known as the Buizingen train collision) was a collision between two NMBS/SNCB passenger trains carrying a combined 250 to 300 people in Buizingen, in the municipality of Halle, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, on 15 February 2010. The accident occurred in snowy conditions at 08:28 CET (07:28 UTC), during rush hour, on railway line 96 (Brussels–Quévy) about from Brussels between ''P-train'' E3678 from Leuven to Braine-le-Comte (a local rush hour train) and ''IC-train'' E1707 from Quiévrain to Liège (an intercity train).
