Begum Khursheed Mirza
Begum Khurshid Mirza (Urdu: بیگم خورشید مرزا ), also known by her screen name as Renuka Devi (1918 – 1989), was a Pakistani television actress and a film actress in the pre-partition era. Early life, Family and Education Begum Khurshid Mirza was born as ''Khurshid Jehan'' on 4 March 1918 in Aligarh to Sheikh Abdullah and Waheed Jahan Begum, the founders of Women's College, Aligarh. Her father was a practising lawyer and philanthropist who was keen to bring education and enlightenment to Muslim women. Her elder sister Rashid Jahan was a prominent Urdu language writer and one of the founding members of the Progressive Writers' Movement. Mirza married in 1935 to a police officer Akbar Mirza and migrated to Pakistan in the wake of partition of India in 1947. Mirza completed her education with a Master's degree in English in 1963. ''Bhabhi'' (Sister-in-Law) is a 1938 social family drama Hindi film directed by Franz Osten. The film was based on a Bengali novel written by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay called "Bisher Dhoan" ("বিষের ধোঁয়া"). Bandyopadhyay was a famous Bengali novelist and short story writer also known for the fictional detective he created, Byomkesh Bakshi. The cinematographers were Wirsching and Pareenja. Dialogues and lyrics by J. S. Casshyap. V. H. Desai, the comedian, got his "big break" in ''Bhabhi'' when he joined Bombay Talkies. He became popular as the nervous father of the heroine Renuka Devi. Shahid Ahmad Dehlvi
Shahid Ahmad Dehlvi (Urdu: ; Shāhid Aḥmad Dihlavī; 22 May 1906 – 27 May 1967) was a Pakistani author, editor and translator. He was conferred with the Pride of Performance award for his literary services by the Government of Pakistan in 1963. He was the grandson of Urdu novel writer and religious reformer Nazir Ahmad Dehlvi. Biography Shahid Ahmad was born on 22 May 1906 in Delhi, British India to Bashiruddin Ahmad Dehlvi, son of Nazir Ahmad Dehlvi in a religious family. In 1930 after completing his education, Dehlvi started the monthly ''Saqi'' ( ur), a literary magazine. Dehlvi's articles in the monthly ''Saqi'' portrayed the vanishing culture of Delhi. Fatima Surayya Bajia
Fatima Surayya Bajia (; 1 September 1930 – 10 February 2016) was an Urdu novelist, playwright and drama writer from Pakistan. She was awarded various awards at home and abroad including Japan's highest civil award in recognition of her works. Bajia remained Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh province in Pakistan, and was a member of the managing committee of the Arts Council of Pakistan. She died on 10 February 2016 in Karachi, aged 85. A well-known personality in social welfare, literary Radio, TV and Stage, Bajia wrote for PTV Centres Islamabad and Lahore since the launch of those television channels.
