Afshan ( ur, , lit=Sprinkle) is a 1981 Pakistani television series written by Fatima Surayya Bajia based on the novel ''Afshan'' which was written by A.R Khatoon and directed by Qasim Jalali. Synopsis The story is about a large family in which the elders decide the fate of their children and the honor of their family is considered above all else even then their children's happiness. Rizwan Wasti
Syed Rizwan Wasti (1937 – January 24, 2011) was a Radio Pakistan, Karachi's radio news broadcaster and a film and television actor. Early life Rizwan Wasti was born in 1937 at Lahore but his family later moved to Karachi where he received his Bachelor of Law degree from Sindh Muslim Law College in Karachi. Career He first worked for Radio Pakistan as an English news broadcaster in the 1953 at age sixteen making made him the youngest newscaster of the sub-continent where he initially learned how to use and control his voice for news media broadcasts. He worked at Radio Pakistan for sixteen years. Then he moved on to acting in the Pakistani television drama serials in the late 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and played over 200 various different roles in dramas such as '' Afshan'', ''Shaheen'' and '' Khuda Ki Basti''. PTV National Awards () was an awards ceremony annually held by the Pakistan Television Corporation. The awards were first introduced in the late 1970s to encourage talented people in Pakistan. History The PTV awards is the largest awards ceremony in the country and is presented by the government of Pakistan's largest media group. The Pakistan Television Corporation established the PTV Awards in 1970 from Karachi Headquarters. The awards were not famous in the start but became popular after the fifth PTV Awards ceremony. Azra Sherwani (1940–2005) was a Pakistani television actress with a career spanning over 35 years who played a variety of roles. Arsh Muneer was a Pakistani actress and singer who acted in television dramas. She played roles in the dramas '' Khuda Ki Basti'', '' Shama'', ''Shehzori'', '' Zair, Zabar, Pesh'', ''Intezar Farmaiye'' and '' Ana''. Early life Arsh was born in 1914 in Lucknow, British India. Fatima Surayya Bajia
Fatima Surayya Bajia (; 1 September 1930 – 10 February 2016) was an Urdu novelist, playwright and drama writer from Pakistan. She was awarded various awards at home and abroad including Japan's highest civil award in recognition of her works. Bajia remained Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh province in Pakistan, and was a member of the managing committee of the Arts Council of Pakistan. She died on 10 February 2016 in Karachi, aged 85. A well-known personality in social welfare, literary Radio, TV and Stage, Bajia wrote for PTV Centres Islamabad and Lahore since the launch of those television channels. She wrote her first long play Mehman. She contributed to literary programmes such as Auraaq and beauty care programmes under the title Aaraish-e-Khaam-e-Kakal.
