Bayswater Railway Station, Perth
Bayswater railway station is a station in Bayswater, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Midland line and Airport line, which are part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It has an island platform, accessed via a pedestrian underpass and a level crossing. The station is only partially accessible due to a large platform gap and steep access ramps to the platform. Services on each line run every 12 minutes during peak and every 15 minutes between peak. The journey to Perth station is , and takes 12 minutes. The station is served by three regular bus routes. The station first opened in 1896, with two side platforms, and an adjacent goods yard. It served as the junction station for the Belmont spur line between 1896 and 1956. Bayswater, Western Australia
Bayswater is a suburb north-east of the central business district (CBD) of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is just north of the Swan River, within the City of Bayswater local government area. It is predominantly a low-density residential suburb consisting of single-family detached homes. However, there are several clusters of commercial buildings, most notably in the suburb's town centre, around the intersection of Whatley Crescent and King William Street and a light industrial area in the suburb's east. Prior to European settlement, the Mooro group of the Whadjuk Noongar people inhabited the area. In 1830, the year after the European settlement of the Swan River Colony, land along the river was divided between the colonists, who moved in soon after. Metronet (styled METRONET) is a multi-government agency in Western Australia. It is responsible for managing extensions to Perth's public transport network. It was formed to deliver commitments made by the McGowan Government during the 2017 election campaign. Midland Junction
Midland is a suburb in the Perth metropolitan region, as well as the regional centre for the City of Swan local government area that covers the Swan Valley and parts of the Darling Scarp to the east. It is situated at the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Great Northern Highway. Its eastern boundary is defined by the Roe Highway. The Eastern Railway is the main railway route between Fremantle and Northam in Western Australia. It opened in stages between 1881 and 1893. Transwa is Western Australia's regional public transport provider, linking 240 destinations, from Kalbarri in the north to Augusta in the south west to Esperance in the south east. Redcliffe Railway Station
Redcliffe railway station (officially Redcliffe Station) is a station for underground commuter rail services in Redcliffe, east of Perth, Western Australia. The station is one of three stations that were built as part of the Forrestfield–Airport Link project and is served by Transperth's Airport line services. The contract for the Forrestfield–Airport Link, which consists of of twin bored tunnels and three new stations, was awarded to Salini Impregilo and NRW Pty Ltd in April 2016. Construction on Redcliffe station began. Forward works, which included the permanent closure of Brearley Avenue between Great Eastern Highway and Dunreath Drive, began in 2016. Construction began in mid-2017, and by June 2018, excavation was complete. Ashfield Railway Station, Perth
Ashfield is a Transperth railway station located north-east of Perth railway station, Western Australia, on the Midland line. It serves the suburb of Ashfield. History The station opened as a signal box named Cresco in 1930, with passenger facilities provided in 1954. The signal box remained until 1964. Construction on a new 83 bay car park started in February 2020. The new car park was needed because 180 bays were permanently removed from Bayswater station in late 2020 due to the construction of the new Bayswater station. Since Ashfield station is in fare zone 2, and Bayswater station is in fare zone 1, catching the train into the city is more expensive from Ashfield. In order to offset the additional cost for passengers going to Ashfield station instead of Bayswater, the parking at Ashfield station is going to be free during the construction of the new Bayswater station.
