Metronet (Western Australia)
Metronet (styled METRONET) is a multi-government agency in Western Australia. It is responsible for managing extensions to Perth's public transport network. It was formed to deliver commitments made by the McGowan Government during the 2017 election campaign. History Metronet was first proposed as a set of rail infrastructure projects in December 2012 by the opposition Labor Party as an election commitment for the then-upcoming 2013 election. Included were new lines to Ellenbrook, Perth Airport, and eventually Wanneroo (all of which would branch from the existing Midland line), extensions of the Joondalup line to Yanchep, the Armadale line to Byford and eventually Pinjarra, and the Thornlie line to meet the Mandurah line at a new station at South Lake, and new stations at Atwell and Karnup on the Mandurah line. Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. Armadale And Thornlie Railway Lines
The Armadale line is a suburban rail service in Western Australia that runs from Perth to Armadale on the South Western Railway. This service is planned to extend to the suburb of Byford over an new railway line constructed as part of the Byford Rail Extension project. The Thornlie line is a service that runs on the South Western Railway from Perth to a junction between Beckenham and Kenwick and continues on a short branch line to Thornlie that opened on 7 August 2005. High Wycombe Station is a bus and railway station in High Wycombe, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It opened on 9 October 2022. Alexander Drive
Alexander Drive is a major north–south arterial road in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, connecting Perth's central business district (CBD) with Edith Cowan University's Mount Lawley campus and the Malaga industrial area, as well as newer development suburbs to Perth's north. Noranda Railway Station
Noranda railway station is a proposed railway and bus station for the Transperth network. Construction started in 2021, and it as a station on the Morley–Ellenbrook railway line, serving the Perth suburbs of Beechboro, Kiara and Noranda. It is being built in the median of Tonkin Highway, just north of Benara Road. History In August 2019, the location of the station was revealed. In November 2019, Metronet did a community survey to decide where to put the station car park. The three options were south-west, north-west or north-east of Benara Road and Tonkin Highway. In the end, the north-east option was the most preferred option, with 66% of respondents preferring that option. The reasons included that it does not require a signalised intersection unlike the other options, and it had the largest amount of car bays of the three options.
