Bay Meadows II (Neighborhood)
Bay Meadows is an 83-acre Mixed-use development, mixed-use, transit-oriented development in the San Mateo, California, City of San Mateo, California. The neighborhood is divided into station/mixed-use and residential districts, which are further divided into 18 development blocks. The station/mixed-use district is primarily adjacent to Delaware Street, the major north–south street through the neighborhood. Blocks in the residential district to the east of Delaware Street form communities within Bay Meadows II. As of 2019, 11 blocks have been developed. Hillsdale Station (Caltrain)
Hillsdale station is one of three Caltrain stations in San Mateo, California. The station is next to the Bay Meadows neighborhood and close to the Hillsdale Shopping Center. History Bay Meadows station Until it was closed on December 20, 2005, the Bay Meadows Racetrack was served by the now-removed Bay Meadows stop, less than a half-mile (800 m) north of Hillsdale. The Bay Meadows stop lacked a passenger shelter, and was just an opening in the chain link fencing where riders could access the grandstand parking lot. When Hillsdale was renovated, the platform was extended a few hundred feet to the north, eliminating the need for the separate station. Raised-bed Gardening
Raised-bed gardening is a form of gardening in which the soil is raised above ground level and usually enclosed in some way. Raised bed structures can be made of wood, rock, concrete or other materials, and can be of any size or shape. The soil is usually enriched with compost. The Nueva School
The Nueva School is a private school, with two campuses—the lower and middle school in Hillsborough, and the high school in San Mateo, California—serving gifted students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Nueva was founded in 1967 by Karen Stone McCown.
