Big Business (band)
Big Business is an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, founded by bassist/vocalist Jared Warren (Karp) and drummer Coady Willis (The Murder City Devils). They have been based out of Los Angeles since 2006. Their music is characterized by a bombastic and frantic style, and for most of their existence Big Business has been a bass-drums duo. History The band released its first Tour EP and the vinyl version of their first album, '' Head for the Shallow'', on January 25, 2005 through Wäntage USA. The CD version of ''Head For the Shallow'' was released by Hydra Head Records, the first of a three album run. In late 2006, after relocating to Los Angeles, Jared and Coady both became members of the Melvins, first appearing on '' (A) Senile Animal''. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. Schreiber started Pitchfork while working at a record store in suburban Minneapolis, and the website earned a reputation for its extensive coverage of indie rock music. Jared Warren
Jared Warren is an American musician who is the bassist of Big Business (alongside drummer Coady Willis) and formerly the Melvins. Career Both Warren and Willis joined the Melvins in January 2006 and appear on '' (A) Senile Animal'' as well as 2008's '' Nude with Boots'' and 2010's album '' The Bride Screamed Murder''. Warren had a role as actor in the 2009 horror movie Muckman. Warren was previously a member of bands Karp, Tight Bros from Way Back When, White Shit, and The Whip. He also contributed vocals to the song "Breaking Rocks" on the album ''Forging Steel and Laying Stone'' by Akimbo. In 2020, Warren participated in a long form career spanning interview on Conan Neutron's Protonic Reversal, speaking about the Whip reissues, Big Business, his time with the Melvins and much more. Coady Willis
Coady Willis is an American drummer and a member of Big Business, High on Fire, White Shit, and the Melvins. He previously played in the bands Dead Low Tide, Broadcast Oblivion, and The Murder City Devils. Willis and Big Business bandmate Jared Warren both appear on the Melvins' albums '' (A) Senile Animal'', '' Nude with Boots'' and '' The Bride Screamed Murder'' and have officially been members of the band since moving to Los Angeles in January 2006. He also sometimes plays drums in the live incarnation of Dale Crover's side project Altamont (also his bandmate and fellow drummer in The Melvins).
