Batemantown is an unincorporated community in Knox County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History A post office called Batemantown was established in 1897, and remained in operation until 1903. The community was named for the local Bateman family who came from Vermont around 1815. Knox County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 62,721. Its county seat is Mount Vernon. The county is named for Henry Knox, an officer in the American Revolutionary War who was later the first Secretary of War.
