Bastian Vasquez
Bastian Vasquez (9 April 1990 – 2015), also known as Abu Safiyyah, was a Norwegian jihadist who made prominent appearances in propaganda videos for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). He is presumed to have died in January or in April/May 2015, in a non-combat infighting incident; another source, '' Verdens Gang'', says that he "lost his life in March 2015, while working with the production of bombs for IS". Early activism Born in Skien, Norway and of Chilean background, he was in a group of hip hop singers. Vasquez joined the Norwegian Islamist group Profetens Ummah, reportedly recruited by Mohyeldeen Mohammad, after having converted to Islam in his teens. He lived in Barcelona where he frequented Salafi circles. He then joined ISIL and travelled to Syria in 2012. Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien. Skien is also the capital of Vestfold og Telemark county. Arfan Bhatti
Arfan Qadeer Bhatti (born 9 August 1977) is a Norwegian Islamist and a leading figure in the Islamic State-affiliated group Profetens Ummah. Early life Bhatti was born and raised in Oslo to parents of Pakistani origin. He spent several years in Pakistan during his childhood in addition to attending school in Norway, but was eventually brought under the care of a child protection institution. He joined the criminal youth gang Young Guns when he was thirteen years old, and when he was fifteen years old he hit the owner of a local grocery store in the head with a glass bottle so that it shattered and then stabbed the victim in the abdomen numerous times, for which he received his first criminal conviction. In 1998 he was convicted for having shot a person as part of an extortion assignment.
