Basketball Agia Paraskevi ( el, Καλαθοσφαίριση Αγίας Παρασκευής - Kalathosfairisi Agia Paraskevi), officially abbreviated as K.A.P. (Κ.Α.Π.), is a Greek basketball club that is based in Agia Paraskevi, Athens. It was founded in 1986, and so far it has twice played in the Greek 2nd Division. The club currently plays in the Greek 4th Division. History Agia Paraskevi was founded in 1986, with the merger of two of the local clubs of Agia Paraskevi, Keravnos and Pegasus. It was originally named O.F.K. Agia Paraskevi (Omilos Filon Kalathosfairisis Agias Paraskevis), but in 2001, it was renamed to its current name. In 2012, the club earned a league promotion up to the Greek 2nd Division, for first time in its history. Agia Paraskevi ( el, Αγία Παρασκευή, ''Agía Paraskeví'') is a suburb and a municipality in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. It is part of the North Athens regional unit. Agia Paraskevi was named after the main church of the town, which is dedicated to Saint Paraskevi of Rome. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. The 2013–14 Greek A2 Basket League was the 28th season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The league finished on 10 May 2014. The winner was AEK Athens. The teams that were promoted to the first tier Greek Basket League were AEK Athens and Koroivos Amaliada. Prodromos "Makis" Nikolaidis (alternate spelling: Nikolaides) (Greek: Πρόδρομος "Μάκης" Νικολαΐδης; born July 13, 1978) is a former Greek-Cypriot professional basketball player. At a height of 2.01 m (6'7") tall, and 102 kg (225 lbs.) in weight, he could play both the shooting guard and small forward positions. During his playing career, Nikolaidis possessed great shooting ability. In 2008, he won the 3-point shootout competition of the Greek League All-Star Game. G.S. Agia Paraskevi ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Αγίας Παρασκευής) is a Greek basketball club based in Agia Paraskevi, Athens. It was founded in 1976 and is active in women basketball. The club had earlier long-time presence in A1 Ethniki women. The most successful season of the club was the season 1987-88 when it finished in 2nd place of the championship. The last season (2014–15) the club plays in the first local Attica division. History G.S Agia Paraskevi was founded in 1976 by the merge of former minor local clubs.
