Basha (film)
''Baashha'' is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language gangster action film written and directed by Suresh Krissna. The film stars Rajinikanth, Nagma and Raghuvaran, with Janagaraj, Devan, Shashi Kumar, Vijayakumar, Anandaraj, Charan Raj, Kitty, Sathyapriya, Shenbaga and Yuvarani in supporting roles. It revolves around an auto-driver who maintains a humble exterior and stays away from violence, but has a dark past which he conceals from his family. During the making of ''Annaamalai'' (1992), Rajinikanth and Krissna discussed a scene from the former's Hindi film ''Hum'' (1991) which was not filmed. The story of ''Baashha'' was adapted from that scene along with that film's core plot and key elements. Principal photography began in August 1994 and was completed in less than five months. P. S. Suresh Krissna
Suresh Krissna (born 25 June 1959) is an Indian film director who has directed Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi Language films. His first independent film as a director was '' Sathya'' (1988), with Kamal Haasan. He is well known for having directed Rajinikanth in four films which include, '' Annamalai'' (1992), '' Veera'' (1994), ''Baashha'' (1995) and '' Baba'' (2002). In the 1990s, he has also directed other major superstars including Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan. Early life and career Suresh was born to R. Krishna and K. Sharada in Bombay. He has two brothers, Sreeram and Satheesh, and one sister, actress Shanthi Krishna. He spent his early career in Mumbai. After completing his graduation in economics he joined the Mumbai office of L. ''Kotigobba'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language action film starring Vishnuvardhan, Priyanka Upendra and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film was a remake of Rajinikanth's 1995 Tamil film ''Baashha''. This movie was directed by Naganna and features soundtrack from Deva who also composed the music for the Tamil version. Released on 16 November 2001, the film met with very good reviews and was declared as one of the biggest blockbusters completing a successful 30 weeks at the box office and the success function was held at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru on Saturday, 16 March 2002. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film ''Nizhalgal'', an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist.
