Barry Lloyd
Barry David Lloyd (born 19 February 1949) is an English retired professional footballer and manager. As a player, he most notably played as a midfielder in the Football League for Fulham, for whom he was captain and made over 280 appearances for the club. He also played league football for Brentford, Hereford United and Chelsea. After his retirement as a player, Lloyd managed Brighton & Hove Albion and non-League clubs Worthing and Yeovil Town. Playing career A midfielder, Lloyd began his senior career at First Division club Chelsea. He failed to break into the first team before joining Fulham in December 1968, in a player-exchange deal which saw John Dempsey move to Chelsea for a £70,000 fee. Lloyd made 286 appearances and scored 30 goals during seasons at Craven Cottage and captained the club to promotion from the Third Division in the 1970–71 season. Hillingdon
Hillingdon is an area of Uxbridge within the London Borough of Hillingdon, centred 14.2 miles (22.8 km) west of Charing Cross. It was an ancient parish in Middlesex that included the market town of Uxbridge. During the 1920s the civil parish bore a rapid, planned increase in population and housing, and was absorbed by Uxbridge Urban District in 1929. It has formed part of Greater London since 1965. Much of Hillingdon has lasting, albeit minor, administrative effect as the current Hillingdon East ward for electing councillors to Hillingdon London Borough Council. In November 2010, the ward had a recorded population of 12,403. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981. After the creation of the Premier League, the name First Division was given to the second-tier division (from 1992). The name ceased to exist after the 2003–04 First Division season. 1983–84 Isthmian League
The 1983–84 season was the 69th season of the Isthmian League, an English football competition. Harrow Borough were champions, winning their first Isthmian League title. There was no promotion from the Isthmian League to the Alliance Premier League till 1985. Windsor & Eton finished first in Division One achieving the second promotion in a row. Corinthian-Casuals were excluded from the league after new groundsharing ruled were introduced. At the end of the season Division Two was split into two sections after 19 clubs, mainly from the Athenian League joined Division Two. Isthmian League
The Isthmian League () is a regional men's football league covering Greater London, East and South East England, featuring mostly semi-professional clubs. Founded in 1905 by amateur clubs in the London area, the league now consists of 82 teams in four divisions: the Premier Division above its three feeder divisions, the North, South Central and South East divisions. Together with the Southern League and the Northern Premier League, it forms the seventh and eighth levels of the English football league system. The National League (named Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons) is an association football league in Football in England, England consisting of three divisions, the National League (division), National League, National League North, and National League South. It was called the "Alliance Premier League" from 1979 until 1986. Between 1986 and 2015, the league was known as the "Football Conference"." Somerset Premier Cup
The Somerset Premier Cup is an association football knock-out cup competition run by the Somerset County Football Association (SFA). According to the current rules of the competition, to enter clubs first affiliation must be with the Somerset County FA, have the use of floodlights and be of a minimum of Western League standard (Level 10 of the English football league system). The competition was first held during the 1928–29 season known as the Somerset Professional Cup, replacing the Somerset Senior Cup as the most prestigious County cup in Somerset. 1978–79 Southern Football League
The 1978–79 Southern Football League season was the 76th in the history of the league, an English football competition. Worcester City won the championship, winning their first Southern League title. At the end of the season the Alliance Premier League was established as a new, national top division of non-League football. Thirteen clubs from the Premier Division joined the new league, leading to a restructuring of the Southern League for the next season, in which it was divided solely into Midland and Southern divisions. Due to the forthcoming changes, there was no relegation or promotion between the Southern League's divisions, although the Premier Division clubs that remained in the Southern League had effectively been relegated one level, being placed in the Midland or Southern divisions the following season. The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. 1975 FA Cup Final
The 1975 FA Cup Final was the 94th final of the FA Cup. It took place on 3 May 1975 at Wembley Stadium and was contested by London clubs West Ham United and Fulham. The Fulham team contained two former England captains in former West Ham captain Bobby Moore, making his last appearance at Wembley, and Alan Mullery. West Ham won 2–0, with both goals scored by Alan Taylor. The first came in the 60th minute when Fulham goalkeeper Peter Mellor parried Billy Jennings' shot into Taylor's path; the second came four minutes later when Taylor capitalised after Mellor failed to hold on to Graham Paddon's shot. The 1975 West Ham team remains the last all-English team to win the FA Cup.
