Ballinagh GAA
Ballinagh is a Gaelic football club based in Ballinagh, County Cavan, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1888. The club reached the final of the Senior Championship in 1961 and 1986, but came up short on both occasions. After winning the Cavan Intermediate title in 2007, Ballinagh went on to reach the Ulster final. Ballinagh beat Antrim champions Dunloy by eight points to become the first Cavan side to win the competition. The club won their first, and to date only Senior Championship title in 2013, beating Cavan Gaels by a point in the final. The club's most recent championship success came at the intermediate grade, winning it in 2020. Ballinagh
Ballinagh, officially Bellananagh (), is a village in County Cavan, Ireland. It lies on the N55 midlands route. Buildings of note Ballinagh Market House is a five-bay two-storey building constructed in 1821; it is currently in use as a store house. It was designed by Arthur McClean who also designed the market houses at nearby Ballyjamesduff and at Balbriggan in north County Dublin. Transport Local Link Cavan Monaghan Route C2 links the village with Cavan and Cavan General Hospital eight times daily Monday to Thursday, eleven times daily Friday and Saturday, and five times daily on Sunday. Cavan Junior Football Championship
The Cavan Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Cavan GAA clubs. It was first competed for in 1913. The winner qualifies to represent their county in the Ulster Club Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship. The current champions are Drumlane after beating Arva in the 2022 final. Format 14 teams will contest the Cully's Craft Bakery Junior Championship. The J.F.C. shall be run on a league basis up to the Quarter-Final stage and Knock-out thereafter. Each team will play 4 rounds in the league phase against different opponents with the fixtures decided by a random draw at the conclusion of each round. Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship
The Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played between the hundreds of intermediate football clubs in Ulster. There are nine county championships between the nine counties of Ulster. The nine winners go on to play each other in the Ulster Club Championship in a knock-out format. The winners go on to compete with the Connacht, Leinster, Munster and London champions in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship. The prize for the winners is the McCully Cup, named in honour of Clontibret O'Neills stalwart Packie McCully. The 2013 Cavan Senior Football Championship was the 105th edition of Cavan GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Cavan, Ireland. The tournament consists of 17 teams, with the winner going on to represent Cavan in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. Mullahoran were the defending champions, but exited the championship to Cavan Gaels at the quarter-final stage. 2020 Cavan Intermediate Football Championship
The 2020 Cavan Intermediate Football Championship was the 56th edition of Cavan GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for intermediate graded clubs in County Cavan, Ireland. The tournament consists of 15 teams, the winner will not represent Cavan in the Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship this year due to its cancellation. The championship starts with a league stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. The COVID-19 pandemic brought forward the beginning and end dates for the championship but the format was not changed, although there was no relegation this year. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). Cavan Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Cavan Town, County Cavan in Ireland. They are affiliated to Cavan GAA. The club was founded in 1957 following the merging of two clubs in Cavan Town, Cavan Harps and Cavan Slashers. They are the second most successful team in Cavan GAA history, with 14 Senior Championship titles, the most recent being in 2017.
