Bahujan Vikas Aghadi
Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi (English: ''Bahujan Development Front'') is a regional political party in the Vasai-Virar region of Maharashtra. It was originally known as ''Vasai Vikas Aaghadi''. The party is lead and founded by Hitendra Thakur who was a one-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on an Indian National Congress ticket and two time independent MLA before founding the party. Baliram Sukur Jadhav of the BVA, backed by Hitendra Thakur, was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 and declared unconditional support to the UPA government. Kshitij Thakur, MLA from Nalasopara, Rajeev Patil, the first mayor of Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation are some of the well known local leaders associated with the party. Hitendra Thakur
Hitendra Vishnu Thakur (born 3 October 1961) is an Indian politician from Virar, Maharashtra, India. He is the president of Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi, political party in the Vasai-Virar region of Maharashtra, India. He is the incumbent Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Vasai (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in Palghar district of Maharashtra. His family controls the Viva Group of Companies and Viva Trust which owns the Viva College located in Virar. Political life Hitendra Thakur started his political career in 1988 when elected the President of the Vasai Taluka Youth Congress. Two years later, in the Maharashtra State Assembly elections in 1990, he was elected MLA for Vasai-Virar from the Indian National Congress at the age of 29. Nala Sopara or Nallasopara (Pronunciation: aːla sopaɾa formerly known as Sopara or Supara, is a town within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Vasai (Konkani and Marathi pronunciation: əsəi formerly and alternatively Mahratti; ''Bajipur'', English: Bassein; Portuguese: Baçaim), is a historical place and City near Mumbai (Bombay)'s western suburbs, located in Palghar district which was partitioned from the Thane district in 2014. It also forms a part of Vasai-Virar twin cities in the Konkan division of Maharashtra, India. Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) is the civic body that governs areas and villages in Vasai-Virar taluka in Maharashtra, India comprising the most populated part of Palghar district. Chintaman Vanga
Chintaman Vanaga (1 June 1950 – 30 January 2018) was an Indian politician and Adivasi leader from Maharashtra and was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was member of 16th Lok Sabha elected from Palghar (Lok Sabha constituency) alongside being a two-time Member of Parliament (India) from Dahanu (Lok Sabha Constituency). He was an advocate by qualification from University of Mumbai and served as the President of BJP's Thane district office from 1990 to 1996. He died on January 30, 2018, of a heart attack. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 elections.
