Baard Iversen
Baard Iversen (22 September 1836 – 15 March 1920) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician. Biography Iversen was born in 1836 in Aukra in Møre og Romsdal, Norway . In 1854, at the age of eighteen he left home for the city Ålesund. In 1862, he moved to the larger city Trondheim, Trondhjem to establish his own trade agency. He was awarded burghership the same year, and opened his first store ''B. Iversen''. He moved the store to larger premises one year later, and expanded the field of business. In 1868, Iversen's company entered the shipping business, investing in a freight boat route between Trondhjem and Halden, Frederikshald. Iversen later became a ship-owner, his first ship built in 1872 for traffic in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. In 1890 a route between Trondhjem and Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle was established. Baard Madsen Haugland
Baard Madsen Haugland (12 January 1835 – 7 May 1896) was a Norwegian merchant and politician with the Liberal Party. Biography He was born at the Haugland farm at Stord (''Haugland på Stord'') in Hordaland, Norway. Haugland was a merchant by profession and worked in the trade business in Bergen from 1851 until 1884. Haugland was mayor (''ordførar'') of Stord from 1864. In 1870, he entered the Norwegian Parliament as a representative of Søndre Bergenhus amt (now Hordaland). He was Minister of Finance 1884-1888 and member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm 1888-1889 and 1895-1896 under Prime Minister Johan Sverdrup. Haugland was made a member of the Order of St. Olav in 1886 and received the Commander's Cross 1st class in 1895. He was also made a commander of the Order of the Polar Star. Baard Owe
Baard Arne Owe (3 July 1936, Mosjøen, Norway – 11 November 2017, aged 81, Copenhagen, Denmark), sometimes credited Bård Owe, was a Norwegian-born Danish actor who has acted in many Scandinavian films and TV series. He moved to Denmark in 1956, and there he lived and worked right up to his death. Owe is mostly known for his role as pathologist Dr. Bondo in the TV series ''Riget (The Kingdom)'', directed by Lars von Trier, as well as for his portrayal of Gertrud's young, manipulative lover in Carl Theodor Dreyer's last film, '' Gertrud'' (1964). In his later years Owe made somewhat of a comeback in his native Norway, most notably when in 2007 he starred in the internationally acclaimed movie '' O'Horten''. Baard Henrik Slagsvold (born 31 August 1963 in Elverum, Norway) is a Norwegian pop and jazz musician (vocals, piano, double bass and drums), and are particularly known as the bassist and singer in the pop trio Tre Små Kinesere (1989–2005). Career Slagsvold had sung and played in several bands before he joined the "Tre Små Kinesere", including "Fort & Gæli" and "Appelzin Juice Studentz" from Elverum, and he also vas vocalist and played drums in the band "Skjønn Forening" from Oslo, and "Kaare og partiet". Bård Jørgen Elden
Bård Jørgen Elden (born 17 June 1968) is a former Norway, Norwegian Nordic combined skier who competed from 1987 to 1997. At the 1989 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, he won a gold medal in the 3 x 10 km team event. He is now the national team coach for Austria and recently won the team competition in the World Championships in Oslo, Holmenkollen 2011. Elden's only individual career victory occurred in Austria in 1989. Elden has also been national team coach and chief executive for the United States, American Nordic combined national team. Henricus Petrus Baard (1906 – 2000), was director of the Frans Hals Museum from 1946-1972. Biography He was born in Amsterdam as the son of Cornelis W.H. Baard, the director of the Stedelijk Museum, and though his father wished he would follow a career in the wood trade, he studied art history and accepted a job as a volunteer with the Rijksmuseum. In 1932 he was appointed scientific assistant of history there and as of 1939 he was put in charge of the art collection. When he succeeded Gerrit David Gratama as director of the Frans Hals Museum, he moved to the upper floor of the Jacobus van Looy house, where he stayed until it was sold in 1967. In the Frans Hals Museum he removed most of the paintings from the display rooms, firmly believing that visitors could better concentrate on fewer works rather than ambling aimlessly room in, room out, attempting to absorb an entire collection in one visit. Baard is a village in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located in the municipality Leeuwarden, about 10 km southwest of the city of Leeuwarden. Baard had a population of about 189 in January 2017. History The village was first mentioned in 1329 as Bawerth, and means ''terp'' (artificial living mound) of Bavo (person).
