Baard Iversen
Baard Iversen (22 September 1836 – 15 March 1920) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician. Biography Iversen was born in 1836 in Aukra in Møre og Romsdal, Norway . In 1854, at the age of eighteen he left home for the city Ålesund. In 1862, he moved to the larger city Trondheim, Trondhjem to establish his own trade agency. He was awarded burghership the same year, and opened his first store ''B. Iversen''. He moved the store to larger premises one year later, and expanded the field of business. In 1868, Iversen's company entered the shipping business, investing in a freight boat route between Trondhjem and Halden, Frederikshald. Iversen later became a ship-owner, his first ship built in 1872 for traffic in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. In 1890 a route between Trondhjem and Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle was established. Toril Brekke (born 24 June 1949) is a Norwegian novelist, writer of short stories, children's writer, biographer, translator and literary critic. Early and personal life Brekke was born in Oslo as a daughter of the poet Paal Brekke and painter Bjørg Rasmussen. She was married to Martin Indregard from 1972 to 1982, and their son Kjetil Indregard is also a writer. She was married to professor Jon Bing from 1988 to 1998. She worked at a bread factory, and later as a typographer, and has been a full-time writer since 1982. She was a member of the Workers' Communist Party (Norway), Workers' Communist Party during the early 1970s, but later renounced communism. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative".
