BT Sport Action Woman Awards
The BT Sport Action Woman Awards are a series of monthly and yearly awards presented by BT Sport to the sports-woman or female sports team, usually British, who has been adjudged to have been the best of that month or year. The public vote for the winner from a list of nominations picked by BT Sport. Action Woman of the Year The BT Sport Action Woman of the Year Award is decided based on a public vote, which features a list of ten nominations picked by BT Sport. Every nominee is backed by their own ambassador, whether it be from the world of sport or entertainment. The first winner of the award in 2013 was announced and presented with the award on '' The Clare Balding Show'' in January 2014. Fara Tanya Franki Merrett MBE (born 25 January 1984) is an English former footballer who played as a central midfielder for multiple clubs, as well as the English national team. A consistent goalscorer and set-piece specialist, Williams was considered one of England's leading players. After making her senior debut in 2001, Williams earned 172 caps for the England Women's Team, making her their highest capped player. Jordanne Whiley
Jordanne Joyce Whiley MBE (born 11 June 1992) is a British retired wheelchair tennis player. Aged 14, she became Britain's youngest ever national women's singles champion in wheelchair tennis. She has osteogenesis imperfecta as does her father, Keith, who was also a Paralympian and won a bronze medal in 1984 in New York. As well as the 2015 US Open in wheelchair singles, Whiley has won 9 Grand Slam doubles titles, and she & Japanese Yui Kamiji are the fourth team in women's wheelchair doubles (as well as the most recent players) to complete the Calendar Year Grand Slam. Shauna Coxsey (born 27 January 1993) is an English professional rock climber. She is the most successful competition climber in the UK, having won the IFSC Bouldering World Cup Season in both 2016 and 2017. Charlotte Susan Jane Dujardin (born 13 July 1985) is a British dressage rider, equestrian and writer. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Laura Robson (born 21 January 1994) is a British former professional tennis player. She debuted on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2007, and a year later won the Junior Wimbledon championships at the age of 14.
