Frederiksberg
Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is formally an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the City of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. Frederiksberg is an enclave surrounded by Copenhagen Municipality. Some sources ambiguously refer to Frederiksberg as a quarter or neighbourhood of Copenhagen, being one of the four municipalities that constitute the City of Copenhagen (the other three being Copenhagen, Tårnby and Dragør). However, Frederiksberg has its own mayor and municipal council, and is fiercely independent. Frederiksberg is an affluent area, characterised by its many green spaces such as the Frederiksberg Gardens, Søndermarken, and Hostrups Have. Some institutions and locations that are widely considered to be part of Copenhagen are actually located in Frederiksberg. For example, Copenhagen Zoo as wel ...

Sankt Annæ Gade
Sankt Annæ Gade is a street in the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It connects the main harbourfront at Asiatisk Plads in the west to Christianshavn Rampart in the east via the Snorrebroen bridge. Church of Our Saviour is located in the street. History Early history Founded in about 1620, Sankt Annæ Gade is one of the oldest streets in Christianshavn. It is named for Saint Anne, a patron saint of seamen. For more than a century, no bridge spanned the canal connecting the two halves of the street. Construction of townhouses soon began along the western half, while Christianshavn's first church, a temporary wooden structure, was built on the south side of the far end of the street in about 1640. The north side was used as the town's first graveyard. It was in these grounds, on the north side of the street, that construction of the present Church of Our Saviour began in 1882. It was inaugurated in 1696. The veterinary school In 1772, instigated by the crown, Pe ...

Single Family Detached Housing
A stand-alone house (also called a single-detached dwelling, detached residence or detached house) is a free-standing residential building. It is sometimes referred to as a single-family home, as opposed to a multi-family residential dwelling. Definitions The definition of this type of house may vary between legal jurisdictions or statistical agencies. The definition, however, generally includes two elements: * Single-family (home, house, or dwelling) means that the building is usually occupied by just one household or family, and consists of just one dwelling unit or suite. In some jurisdictions allowances are made for basement suites or mother-in-law suites without changing the description from "single family". It does exclude, however, any short-term accommodation (hotel, motels, inns), large-scale rental accommodation ( rooming or boarding houses, apartments), or condominia. * Detached (house, home, or dwelling) means that the building does not share wall with oth ...

Povl Baumann
Povl Erik Raimund Baumann (9 November 1878 – 3 July 1963) was a Danish architect who was a central figure during the transition from Neoclassicism to Functionalism in Danish residential architecture. In 1910, he was one of the founders of ''Den frie Architektforening'', an alternative architects' association, and headed it for the nine years it existed. Early life and education Baumann was born on 9 November 1878 in Copenhagen, the son of translator Heinrich Johann Raimund Baumann and Julie Augusta née Riise. He first enrolled at the College of Advanced Technology to become a building engineer but in 1888 discontinued his studies after just three semesters. Instead he took classes at a technical school from 1899 to 1901 while at the same time apprenticing as a mason. He was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1900 but dissatisfied with the teachings, left just two years later and was instead articled to Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint. He participated in an archae ...

The western end of the street is lined with large late 19th-century villas while its eastern end is dominated by taller buildings. History The street was constructed by Frederik Bülow in approximately 1852 as one of the first streets in a new neighbourhood of single family detached homes. It was named after Amalie Dohlmann, a daughter of the owner of nearby SvanemosegårdFrits August Dohlmann. Her sister was the painter Augusta Dohlmann. Svanemosegård was located on Bülowsvej and the Dohlmann family were personal friends of Frederik Bülow. Defense Minister Carl Lundbyee lived in the house at No. 4 from 1857 to 1873. The artist Constantin Hansen lived in the house at No. 6 in 1862-80. His house, Paletten, h ...

It is located in the town Kongens Lyngby, north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Along with École Polytechnique in Paris, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Eindhoven University of Technology, Technical University of Munich and Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, DTU is a member of EuroTech Universities Alliance. History DTU was founded in 1829 as the "College of Advanced Technology" (Danish: Den Polytekniske Læreanstalt). The Physicist Hans Christian Ørsted, at that time a professor at the University of Copenhagen, was one of the driving forces behind this initiative. He was inspired by the École Polytechnique in Paris, Fran ...

Copenhagen Plant Science Center
Copenhagen ( or .; da, København ) is the capital and most populous city of Denmark, with a proper population of around 815.000 in the last quarter of 2022; and some 1.370,000 in the urban area; and the wider Copenhagen metropolitan area has 2,057,142 people. Copenhagen is on the islands of Zealand and Amager, separated from Malmö, Sweden, by the Øresund strait. The Øresund Bridge connects the two cities by rail and road. Originally a Viking fishing village established in the 10th century in the vicinity of what is now Gammel Strand, Copenhagen became the capital of Denmark in the early 15th century. Beginning in the 17th century, it consolidated its position as a regional centre of power with its institutions, defences, and armed forces. During the Renaissance the city served as the de facto capital of the Kalmar Union, being the seat of monarchy, governing the majority of the present day Nordic region in a personal union with Sweden and Norway ruled by the Dani ...

He studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1859 to 1866 and at the College of Advanced Technology from 1862 to 1865, graduating from both institutions. At the Technical College, where he remained the only student ever to take the exam as an architect, he studied under Johan Daniel Herholdt and after his graduation became his assistant, working mainly on the Danish National Bank at Holmens Kanal. He also worked for Christian Hansen who had returned to Denmark in 1851 after many years in Athens. In 1871 he won a scholarship from the Academy and travelled to ...

KVL Bulowsvej Copenhagen
Kirchhoff's circuit laws are two equalities that deal with the current and potential difference (commonly known as voltage) in the lumped element model of electrical circuits. They were first described in 1845 by German physicist Gustav Kirchhoff. This generalized the work of Georg Ohm and preceded the work of James Clerk Maxwell. Widely used in electrical engineering, they are also called Kirchhoff's rules or simply Kirchhoff's laws. These laws can be applied in time and frequency domains and form the basis for network analysis. Both of Kirchhoff's laws can be understood as corollaries of Maxwell's equations in the low-frequency limit. They are accurate for DC circuits, and for AC circuits at frequencies where the wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation are very large compared to the circuits. Kirchhoff's current law This law, also called Kirchhoff's first law, or Kirchhoff's junction rule, states that, for any node (junction) in an electrical circuit, the sum of cur ...
