Bülent Ulusoy
Bülent Ulusoy (born January 7, 1978, in Trabzon) is a Turkish boxer best known to win the European title 2000 at welterweight. Career In 2000, Bulent Ulusoy won the Euro welterweight title. At the Olympics 2000 he lost the quarterfinal to Vitalie Gruşac. In 2001 he competed at the world championships at junior middleweight and beat Jean Pascal and lost to Marian Simion 19:20. Ulusoy qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics by ending up in first place at the 4th AIBA European 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan. At the Olympics 2004 he lost in the men's welterweight division to Sherzod Husanov. He won the 2005 Mediterranean Games. Trabzon
Trabzon (; Ancient Greek: Tραπεζοῦς (''Trapezous''), Ophitic Pontic Greek: Τραπεζούντα (''Trapezounta''); Georgian: ტრაპიზონი (''Trapizoni'')), historically known as Trebizond in English, is a city on the Black Sea coast of northeastern Turkey and the capital of Trabzon Province. Boxing At The 2000 Summer Olympics
The boxing competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour. The event was only open to men and bouts were contested over four rounds of two minutes each. Five judges scored the fighters in real time and the boxer with the most points at the end was the winner. Like other Olympic combat sports, two bronze medals are awarded; in the case of boxing, both losing semi-finalists receive a bronze medal, with no further play-off. As a result, the quarter-final essentially equates to a bronze medal match, a semi-final to a silver medal match, and the final to a gold medal match. 48 medals are therefore available, half of which are bronze medals. Andrey Vladimirovich Balanov (russian: Андрей Владимирович Баланов) (born April 27, 1976 in Podolsk) is a former Russian boxer best known for winning the 2006 European Amateur Boxing Championships at welterweight, being part of the Russian 2005 team at the Boxing World Cup and competing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Sherzod Husanov (born 27 January 1980) is a boxer from Uzbekistan who won medals at the 2001 and 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships and participated in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. Amateurs At the 2000 Summer Olympics, Husanov lost in his second bout, to eventual bronze medal winner Vitalie Gruşac of Moldova. At both the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships and the 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Bangkok, he lost to winner Lorenzo Aragon, winning bronze and silver, respectively, in the Welterweight division.
