Arne Børresen
Arne Børresen (29 December 1907 – 14 December 1947) was a Norway, Norwegian international Association football, football Forward (association football), forward. On club level he played for Fredrikstad FK, Fredrikstad and Kvik Halden FK, Kvik Halden. He was capped 25 times for Norway national football team, Norway and scored one goal. Club career Børresen was born in Fredrikstad, and as a kid he played for the local team ''Kvik''. He joined Fredrikstad FK youth department in 1924, and in 1927 he made a breakthrough in the first team, alongside Sten Moe and Karl Pedersen (footballer), Karl Pedersen. The three youngsters was all contributors to Fredrikstad's success in the 1930s. Erik Børresen
Erik Børresen (17 September 1785 – 14 January 1860) was a Norwegian ship owner, merchant and philanthropist. Biography Erik Andreas Børresen as born in the Bragernes neighborhood of Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. He was the son of Lars Børresen (1753-1810) and Karen Flor Robsahm (1764-1825). He followed in his father's footsteps and entered the timber trade. Initially he concentrated the shipping activities on the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. He later established himself as a wholesaler of both lumber and grain. During the 1830s, he built several ships in Hurum and later he established his own shipyard in Bragernes. Børresen owned the first Norwegian ships to sail to China. By the 1840s, he had become the owner-operator of one of the largest shipping companies in Drammen. Geir Børresen (16 November 1942 – 25 July 2022) was a Norwegian actor and entertainer. Biography Børresen was born in Oslo on 16 November 1942. He made his film debut in '' Liv'' in 1967, and made his stage debut at Nationaltheatret in 1968. He was a presenter on ''Lekestue'', based on BBC's ''Play School'', for NRK from 1975–1981. He played the characters "Labbetuss" and "Max Mekker" in the television series '' Sesam Stasjon'' (a Norwegian spin-off of ''Sesame Street'') in the 1990s. Hakon Børresen
Axel Ejnar Hakon Børresen (2 June 1876, Copenhagen – 6 October 1954, Copenhagen) was one of the foremost Danish composers of the 20th century. Life Børresen was descended from a merchant family. As a child, he was given violin, cello and piano lessons. When Børresen made clear to his father that he wished to become a composer, the latter arranged for him to study at the Royal Danish Conservatory in 1895. There he studied composition with Johan Svendsen. After further private studies, his First Symphony was privately premiered in 1901. It made his name as an up-and-coming composer. There followed travels in Germany, France and Belgium, where he made many useful connections. From 1902 on he divided his time between Copenhagen and Skagen where he maintained a second home. Hans Peter Børresen
Hans Peter Boerresen (29 November 1825 – 23 September 1901) was a Danish missionary to India. He and Norwegian missionary Lars Olsen Skrefsrud were the founders of Northern Evangelical Lutheran Church—centered in North India - Bihar, Assam, and Bengal - extending into Nepal and Bhutan. Missionary work Hans Peter Boerresen was sent to India in 1864 by Berlin based Gossner Missionary Society to evangelizing North Indian aborigines. He was initially placed at station Purulia, now in West Bengal to work along with Lars Olsen Skrefsrud. In 1867, he and Lars Olsen Skrefsrud left the Gossner Mission along with Edward Colpys Johnson, from the Baptist Missionary Society. Odd Børresen (August 19, 1923 – January 22, 2010) was a Norwegian linguist, preacher, and missionary in the present-day Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he was involved with schools and education. Life Børresen was born in Sætre in the municipality of Hurum, where he and his seven siblings grew up in a Christian home. In 1942, at the age of 19, he moved to Oslo for further education. He studied history and learned several languages: French, English, and Swahili. He was particularly accomplished with languages, especially Swahili, and had a master's degree in Swahili.
