Bódi Guszti
Bódi Guszti (born December 12, 1958 in Nagyecsed, Hungary) is a Lovari Romani, Gypsy, Hungarian musician, composer and singer. Biography He started performing, singing and playing piano early in his childhood. He married his love Margó at the age of 18. He formed his group, Nagyecsedi Fekete szemek, in 1978. In English this translates as ''Black Eyes from Nagyecsed''. At that time it was a 22-member dance ensemble. In 1987 Guszti and Margó decided to move their family to Budapest to establish and create the so-called "pop-gypsy" music, which was a lighter more entertaining style than their earlier Roma music. With the release of their album "Szeretlek, Szeretlek" (''I love you, I love you'') in 2000 they finally became famous and popular all over HungaryTóth Gábor Ákos, Over the years the group acquired 14 gold, and 8 platinum awards. Nagyecsed
Nagyecsed is a town in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. The old name of the town was Ecsed but over time it has been renamed Nagyecsed, meaning "grand" or "great Ecsed" to distinguish it. The area had close associations with a cadet branch of the Báthory family. Elizabeth Báthory was raised in the town's now ruined castle. Her main residence and later her prison was Csejte Castle, Upper Hungary, now in Slovakia, but she was buried in the family crypt at Ecsed. The town's castle was demolished in the eighteenth century after the Kuruc uprisings. Geography It covers an area of and has a population of 6706 people (2005). The town is divided in two by the Crasna River. It formerly lay north west of the Ecsed Marsh (Ecsedi-láp), which was the largest contiguous marshland of the Great Hungarian Plain. Lovari ("horse-dealer", from Hungarian "ló", ''horse'') is a subgroup of the Romani people, who speak their own dialect, influenced by Hungarian and West Slavic dialects. They live predominantly throughout Central Europe (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany) as well as in Southeastern Europe (Romania, Croatia, and northern Serbia). Ethnology The ''Lovari'' are a Romani people who speak a dialect influenced by Hungarian and West Slavic dialects. Their language is classified under Vlax Romani.
