Béïque Legault Thuot
Béïque Legault Thuot (BLTA) is an architecture firm based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The firm is headed by three partners, Olivier Legault, Denis C. Blais and Cyr Beauchemin, with continued involvement from founding partners Gilles Thuot and Jacques Béïque. History The architecture firm was founded in 1970 by Jacques Béïque. In 1971, the firm designed Quebec's first condo project, "Le Cerisaie". In 1990, they participated in the city of Montreal's first public consultation. Since then, BLTA has completed nearly 2 million square feet of office space over the past decade and built more than 5,000 residential units in the greater Montreal metropolitan area. E-Commerce Place (french: Cité du commerce électronique) (CCE) is an office complex of two towers located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located on René Lévesque Boulevard, René-Lévesque Boulevard West between Mountain Street and Lucien L'Allier Street in Downtown Montreal. It derives its name from the fact that its construction was part of a program grant from the Government of Quebec to promote the development of employment in the field of information technology. The complex provided incentives to firms specializing in electronic commerce. History The Parti Québécois government launched the Cité du Multimédia in June 1998, which was seen as a relative success of job creation despite the progressive scaling down of the program. The Windsor Hotel (opened 1878, closed 1981) was a hotel located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is often considered to be the first grand hotel in Canada, and for decades billed itself as "the best in all the Dominion". Early years The hotel was constructed between 1875 and 1878 by the Windsor Hotel Company consortium of six Montreal businessmen, including William Notman. It was capitalized at C$500,000. At the time Montreal was Canada's largest city, and the centre of commerce in the young country. The consortium was formed to construct an opulent new hotel to symbolize the city's growing prominence and wealth. Beaudry (Montreal Metro)
Beaudry is a Montreal Metro station in the borough of Ville-Marie, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and serves the Green Line. It is in Montreal's Gay Village, part of the Centre-Sud district. Although part of the original network of the Metro, it opened two months after the rest of the network, on December 21, 1966. Overview Designed by Adalbert Niklewicz, it is a normal side platform station, built in-tunnel; a transept leads to a long inclined moving sidewalk, the only one of its kind in the Metro, traversing the distance between De Maisonneuve Boulevard and Saint Catherine Street, on which the entrance is located.
