Bård Mikkelsen
Bård Martin Mikkelsen (born 31 May 1948) is a Norwegian businessperson. He has been the chief executive officer of Widerøe (1988–1997), the Ulstein Group (1997–1999), Oslo Energi Holding (1999–2001) and Statkraft (2001–2010). Biography He was born in Oslo, but grew up in Sarpsborg, in the neighborhood Hafslund. His father spent his career in the company Hafslund. Bård Mikkelsen took his education at the Befalsskolen for Kavaleriet and Norwegian Military Academy, and worked in the Norwegian Army, among others in Hærens Fallskjermjegerskole. As a continuation of this he has been an active skydiver, and in 1986 he became an instructor in tandem skydiving. His last dive was in 1994 over Antarctica. Christian Wilhelm Rynning-Tønnesen (born 18 June 1959) is a Norwegian businessperson. He has spent most of his career in Statkraft, first holding various positions from 1992 to 2005, and then as CEO since 2010. He was CEO of Norske Skog from 2006 to 2010. Career Rynning-Tønnesen was born in Oslo, and grew up in Kristiansand and Bergen. His father Carl M. Rynning-Tønnesen and grandfather were both prominent chiefs of police in Kristiansand, but Rynning-Tønnesen is educated as a civil engineer at the Norwegian Institute of Technology. Cermaq is a company which farms salmon and trout in Norway, Canada and Chile. In 2017 the farming business had sales of around USD 1,1 billion, and a total sales volume of 157,800 tonnes. Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani (SNSK), or simply Store Norske, is a Norwegian coal mining company based on the Svalbard archipelago. It was formed in 1916, after a Norwegian purchase of the American Arctic Coal Company (ACC). The company has 360 employees and operated two coal mines. The larger one was located in the Sveagruva settlement, about 60 km south of Longyearbyen. The Svea Nord longwall mine has an annual output of 2 million tonnes of bituminous coal. Lars Uno Thulin (25 March 1939 – 14 March 2002) was a Norwegian engineer, civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Uddevalla, Sweden, but grew up in Fredrikstad. He studied at the Norwegian Institute of Technology where he took a siv.ing. degree. He later took a doctorate in thermodynamics. Idar Lars Ulstein (2 April 1934 – 29 April 2012) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was educated as a naval architect at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim, Norway. After completion of his education in 1962, he entered the family business Ulstein Group, and was manager of the company until he retired as chief executive in 1997. Widerøe Flight 744, also known as the Namsos Accident ( no, Namsos-ulykken), was a controlled flight into terrain of a de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter during approach to Namsos Airport, Høknesøra in Norway. The incident occurred on 27 October 1993 at 19:16:48 and killed six of the nineteen people on board, including the crew of two. The scheduled flight was en route between Trondheim Airport, Værnes via Namsos to Rørvik Airport, Ryum and the aircraft crashed at Berg in Overhalla because it held too low an altitude. Parallel investigations were carried out by Namdal Police District and the Accident Investigation Board for Civil Aviation (HSL). Widerøe Flight 839, also known as the Værøy Accident ( no, Værøy-ulykken), was a de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter that crashed shortly after take-off from Værøy Airport in Norway. The incident occurred on 12 April 1990 at 14:44, killing all five people on board. The cause of the accident were strong winds that exceeded the structure's tolerance, causing the tail rudder and tailplane to crack so the plane became uncontrollable. Impact occurred 63 seconds after take-off and 8 seconds after the crack. The aircraft crashed into the water, and a search was conducted for several days to find the wreck. Uneven and strong winds had given the airport low regularity, and prior to take-off, wind speeds of had been recorded. Widerøe Flight 710, commonly known as the Torghatten Accident ( no, Torghatten-ulykken), was a controlled flight into terrain into the mountain of Torghatten in Brønnøy, Norway. The Widerøe-operated de Havilland Canada Dash 7 crashed on 6 May 1988 at 20:29:30 during approach to Brønnøysund Airport, Brønnøy. All thirty-six people on board LN-WFN were killed; the crash remains the deadliest accident involving the Dash 7 and the deadliest in Northern Norway. The direct cause of the accident was that the aircraft had descended from 500 meters to 170 meters (1,500–550 ft) at instead of from the airport.
