Club Básquet Coruña, more commonly referred by its sponsorship name of Leyma Básquet Coruña, is a professional basketball team based in A Coruña, Galicia. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. History CB Coruña was founded in 1996 as a merger of clubs ''CB Ventorrillo'' and ''CB Arteixo''. This club would substitute former Baloncesto Coruña CAB, that played its last season in Liga EBA before being dissolved. After playing some seasons at Liga EBA, the club joined LEB League, where it remained four years, known as Sondeos del Norte due to sponsorship reasons. In 2002, CB Coruña sold its LEB spot to a new club Basket Zaragoza. After that, the club could continue playing in Liga EBA, thanks to the promotion of its reserve team. In 2004, Básquet Coruña did not participate in any competition due to financial reasons, but the club comes back in 2005 to Liga EBA. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the LEB Oro are relegated to LEB Plata. Basket Zaragoza 2002 S.A.D., more commonly referred to as Basket Zaragoza and as Casademont Zaragoza for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Zaragoza, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. Their home arena is the Pabellón PrÃncipe Felipe. History Basket Zaragoza was founded in 2002 with the aim of giving the city of Zaragoza back to the Spanish basketball elite league, after old CB Zaragoza left the Liga ACB on 1996. It started playing on LEB, after taking the place belonging to CB Coruña. CAI Zaragoza spent five hard years on LEB league before reaching Liga ACB for the first time. The team had to overcome a relegation playoff in its first season against CB Ciudad de Huelva, and four consecutive failed promotion playoffs against CB Granada, CB Murcia and Baloncesto León twice. The 2018–19 LEB Oro season was the 23rd season of the Spanish basketball second league. It started on 5 October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 2 June 2019 with the final.
