Byram, North Yorkshire
Byram is a village in the Selby District in North Yorkshire, England. It lies east of Castleford, across the River Aire in West Yorkshire. Byram is the principal settlement in the civil parish of Byram cum Sutton. The toponym is from the Old English ''bȳrum'', the dative plural of ''bȳre'', so means "at the byres or cowsheds". Byram was historically a hamlet, part of the Township (England), township of Byram cum Poole in the ancient parish of Brotherton in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Byram cum Poole became a separate civil parish in 1866, but in 1891 was merged with the civil parish of Sutton, Selby, Sutton to form the civil parish of Byram cum Sutton. Byram grew rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1974 it was transferred to the new county of North Yorkshire. Byram Hall was a large country house east of the village, in Byram Park. Carl Edward Byrum (born June 29, 1963) is a former American football running back who played three seasons with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Bills in the fifth round of the 1986 NFL Draft. He played college football at Mississippi Valley State University and attended Southaven High School in Southaven, Mississippi. College career Byrum played for the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. He was teammates with Jerry Rice under coach Archie Cooley. Curt Byrum
Curt Allen Byrum (born December 28, 1958) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He is the older brother of PGA Tour golfer Tom Byrum. Byrum was born and raised in Onida, South Dakota. He learned to play golf on a nine-hole course that he and brother Tom used to mow. He was an exceptionally talented athlete in high school in both football and basketball. Byrum attended the University of New Mexico and was a member of the golf team. He turned pro in 1982 and joined the PGA Tour in 1983. Byrum has spent time playing on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He has 19 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events and 18 top-10 finishes in Nationwide Tour events. Like his brother, he won once on the PGA Tour; and also like his brother, that win came in 1989. Dion Byrum
Dion Byrum (born February 18, 1983 in Matthews, North Carolina) is a former American football cornerback. Byrum was first signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent after four years as a collegiate player at Ohio University, but was released by the Bears on September 1, 2006. He went on to sign with the Bucs practice squad, but was later released. Byrum was signed to the Panthers' roster on November 16, 2006. John Byrum is an American film director, and writer known for ''The Razor's Edge'', '' Heart Beat'', ''Duets'' and '' Inserts''. } Thomas Elliott Byrum (born September 28, 1960) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. Byrum was born in Onida, South Dakota. He attended the University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University before turning professional in 1984.
