Bydgoszcz City Council
The Bydgoszcz City Council ( pl, Rada Miasta Bydgoszczy) is a unicameral governing body of the city of Bydgoszcz, the capital of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It consists of thirty-one councillors elected in free elections for a five-year term. The current chairperson of the council is Monika Matowska. After elections in 2018 in Bydgoszcz was formed a centre-left coalition between liberal and pro-market Civic Coalition and social democratic Democratic Left Alliance. Conservative Law and Justice remained in opposition. Bydgoszcz ( , , ; german: Bromberg) is a city in northern Poland, straddling the meeting of the River Vistula with its left-bank tributary, the Brda. With a city population of 339,053 as of December 2021 and an urban agglomeration with more than 470,000 inhabitants, Bydgoszcz is the eighth-largest city in Poland. It is the seat of Bydgoszcz County and the co-capital, with Toruń, of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. 2006 Polish Local Elections
The 2006 Polish local elections were held in two parts. with its first round on November 12 and the second on November 26, 2006. In the election's first round, voters chose 39,944 gmina councillors, 6,284 powiat councillors and 561 deputies to provincial voivodeship sejmiks. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). The Democratic Left Alliance () was a social-democratic political party in Poland. It was formed in 9 July 1991 as an electoral alliance of centre-left parties, and became a single party on 15 April 1999. Civic Coalition (Poland)
The Civic Coalition ( pl, Koalicja Obywatelska, KO)) is a catch-all political alliance in Poland. The alliance was formed around Civic Platform in opposition to the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. The coalition's name uses a play on words with ''Ja Obywatel'', which translates to "I, Citizen".
