Bwenieve Records is a Kenyan-based record label founded by producer Agundabweni Akweyu and his wife Evelyn Wanjiru, a Kenyan gospel musician. The label produced hit songs for musicians such as Wanjiru, Gloria Muliro, Emmy Kosgei, Kambua, Tumaini and Martha Mwaipaja. History Founding Bwenieve Records was founded on May 5, 2010, in Nakuru Kenya, when producer Agundabweni Akweyu, working for a human resources firm, discovered Evelyn Wanjiru, who could not source a producer to record her music. Agundabweni decided to study music production online through YouTube tutorials so that he could record Evelyn. On May 5, 2010 Agundabweni resigned his job and teamed up with Wanjiru to start Bwenieve records. The name Bwenieve was derived from Agundabweni's and Evelyn's names (Bweni-Eve). Between 2010 and 2013, Bwenieve produced "Mazingira", "Waweza", and "Mungu Mkuu", songs for Evelyn that did well and got a lot of radio and TV airplay. Evelyn Wanjiru
Evelyn Wanjiru Agundabweni (born 6 May 1990) is a Kenyan gospel singer, worship leader, music director, songwriter, hostess of the annual event "Praise Atmosphere" and co-founder of Bwenieve production. She is best known for her hit songs "Mungu Mkuu", "Celebrate", "Jehovah Elohim", "Waweza," "Hossana," "Nikufahamu", "Asante" and "Tulia" featuring Vicky Kitonga among many others. Life and career Evelyn Wanjiru started her music career at the age of nine years, as a child, she sang in a local church and school music festivals. Gloria Muliro
Gloria Owendi, commonly referred to as Gloria Muliro (born 1 April 1980), is a Kenyan Gospel musician and songwriter. In 2005, she released her first studio album, titled ''Omwami Aletsa'' (The Lord is Coming). As of 2013, Muliro had four albums to her name, the most successful being ''Kibali'' (Mandate), which has the popular song "Sitolia" (I Won't Cry) featuring Willy Paul. The album earned her six Groove Awards nominations. She went on to receive the female artist of the year award at the eighth Groove Awards, an event that was attended by President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta. The Groove Awards is a Kenyan annual Gospel award. The winners are chosen by the public. The award's coverage has spread to include other East African countries, including Rwanda.
