Garth Butcher
Garth Butcher (born January 8, 1963) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Butcher was a top prospect as a junior player and was a member of the first Canadian team to win gold at the world junior championship. Butcher played in the National Hockey League for 14 seasons, from 1981–82 to 1994–95, mostly with the Vancouver Canucks. Playing career Junior career Butcher played with Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League teams in his hometown of Regina prior to moving up to the Western Hockey League, late in the 1979–80 season. Don Butcher
Donald Butcher was an English squash player, and the first player to win the British Open men's title in open play. Butcher was a professional squash player based at the Conservative Club in London when he played in the first British Open final in December 1930. His opponent Charles Read, a former English professional champion, was designated open champion at the initiation of the event, which was a 'challenge' event without any preliminary rounds, with the final played under a best-of-three-legs format. Butcher defeated Read in the first match at the Queen's Club 9–6, 9–5, 9–5. He then won the second match at the Conservative Club 9–3, 9–5, 9–3 to claim the title and make the third match unnecessary. David Neil Butcher (born 2 October 1969) is a former English cricketer. Butcher was a right-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Colchester, Essex. Butcher made his debut for Devon in the Minor Counties Championship against Berkshire in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he represented Devon in 14 Championship matches, the last of which came against Cornwall. Basil Fitzherbert Butcher (3 September 1933 – 16 December 2019) was a Guyanese cricketer who played for the West Indies cricket team. He was regarded as a reliable right-handed middle-order batsman in the star-studded West Indian batting line-up of the 1960s. Arthur Butcher (8 November 1863 – 17 September 1955) was an English people, English first-class cricketer. Born at Tring in November 1863, Butcher made his debut in Minor Counties of English and Welsh cricket, minor counties cricket for Hertfordshire County Cricket Club, Hertfordshire against Norfolk County Cricket Club, Norfolk in the 1895 Minor Counties Championship. Butcher played minor counties cricket for Hertfordshire until 1909, making 111 appearances in the Minor Counties Championship. He also made two appearances in first-class cricket for the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord's, playing against London County Cricket Club, London County in 1902, and Leicestershire County Cricket Club, Leicestershire in 1905. Alan Raymond Butcher (born 7 January 1954) is a former English cricketer who is part of a family known for its strong cricketing connections. Although only selected to play for England on one occasion, he was lauded for his skills in first-class cricket and was named a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1991.
