Barney Bussey
Barney Bussey (born May 20, 1962) is a former American football safety. Bussey was born in Lincolnton, Georgia. He attended high school at Lincoln County High School in Lincolnton where he was a major reason behind Lincoln County's defensive success in the late 1970s. Bussey played both offense and defense. In 1979, he was named to the Class AA All-State team. Bussey then attended South Carolina State University, where he became a Division I-AA All-American Defensive Back. After college, Bussey was selected in the 1st round (8th overall) of the 1984 USFL Draft by the Memphis Showboats in January 1984. Four months later he was selected in the 5th round (119th overall) in the 1984 NFL Draft. Bussey then signed with the USFL Showboats on May 8, 1984, and spent two seasons with Memphis. Ben Bussey
Ben J. Bussey is an American planetary scientist. He earned a PhD in planetary geology at University College London, England. In 2001, during his post-doctorate work at the University of Hawaii, he joined the ANSMET (Antarctic Search for METeorites) expedition to recover meteorites from the Antarctic glaciers. He worked at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston and the European Space Agency, before joining the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and becoming a senior staff scientist at that facility. Bussey later joined National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as the Chief Exploration Scientist of its Human Exploration & Operations Mission Directorate. Bussey is specialized in the remote sensing of the surfaces of planets. Benjamin Bussey
Benjamin Bussey (17571842) was a prosperous merchant, farmer, horticulturalist and patriot in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, who made significant contributions to the creation of the Arnold Arboretum. He was said to be "a man of excellent business capacity." Personal life Bussey was born in 1757 on a farm in what is today Canton, Massachusetts, before it separated from Stoughton. He received only a basic education. After serving in the American Revolutionary War, Bussey moved to Dedham, Massachusetts. He married Judith Gay of Dedham in 1780. Bussey owned land in what is now the Forest Hills area of Jamaica Plain. In 1800, he inherited additional land from fellow patriot Eleazer Weld and further enlarged his estate between 1806 and 1837 by acquiring and consolidating various farms that had been established as early as the seventeenth century. Nationally syndicated and produced at WZZK-FM, the show is live every weekday for five hours and is hosted by Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey. Cyrus Bussey (October 5, 1833March 2, 1915) was an American soldier and politician, serving as a brigadier general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Early life and career Bussey was born in Hubbard, Ohio, in 1833. His father, Reverend A. Bussey, was a Methodist minister. He moved with his father, in 1837, to Indiana. At age 14, Bussey began working, as a clerk, in a dry-goods store, and at age 15, he started his own mercantile business. Dexter Manley Bussey (born March 11, 1952) is a former American football running back. He played professional football in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions for 11 years from 1974 to 1984 and became the Lions' all-time career rushing leader in 1981. Bussey was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1952. He began his college career at the University of Oklahoma, but he transferred to the University of Texas–Arlington. He played for the Texas–Arlington Mavericks football team from 1971 to 1973 and totaled over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in both 1972 and 1973. Lionel Bussey
Lionel Ernest Bussey (6 October 1883 – 5 December 1969) was a British mechanical and electrical engineer who amassed a collection of about 600 pairs of women's shoes. All were unworn, and many still unopened in their boxes with receipts. On his death he bequeathed his collection to "a likely museum or museums" and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London accepted 50 pairs, with others going to the Northampton Museum and the Brooklyn Museum. Early life and family Lionel Ernest Bussey was born on 6 October 1883 to William Thomas Bussey, a "First Clerk Accountant's Department" at The Gas Light & Coke Co., Westminster, and Mary Louisa Bussey.
