Burwood AFC
Burwood AFC is a football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. They currently play in the Canterbury Premier League. History The club were formed in 1970 as a junior football club, before introducing senior teams in 1980. In 1992, the club won promotion to the Southern Qualifying League by winning the CFA Districts League. In 2023 Burwood partnered with 5 other Christchurch clubs to form the youth club Ōtākaro FC. They have started working together to better develop their Youth Talent Development and Junior Skills Center programs. The club has competed in the Chatham Cup 19 times first competing in 1983, with their best appearance being in 1996, 2014 and 2021 where they reached the third round. 1996 Chatham Cup
The 1996 Chatham Cup was the 69th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. Up to the last 16 of the competition, the cup was run in three regions (northern, central, and southern), with an open draw from the quarter-finals on. National League teams received a bye until the fourth round (last 32). In all, 127 teams took part in the competition, which consisted of a preliminary round and five rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. Meikayla Jean-Maree Moore (born 4 June 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Glasgow City in the Scottish Women's Premier League and the New Zealand national team. Cashmere Technical
Cashmere Technical is an association football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was formed in early 2012 from the merger of two of the city's premier teams, Cashmere Wanderers and Woolston Technical. The two clubs had agreed to work together in early 2011, and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which devastated their home city and resulted in the loss of many playing facilities hastened their merger into a combined side. Cashmere Technical play in the Mainland Premier League, and have won the Chatham Cup twice as Cashmere but also once as Christchurch Technical Old Boys. The 2021 Chatham Cup is New Zealand's 93rd annual knockout football competition. The competition returns for 2021 after being cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19. The 1983 Chatham Cup was the 56th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. Early stages of the competition were run in three regions (northern, central, and southern), with the National League teams receiving a bye until the fourth round of the competition. In all, 139 teams took part in the competition. The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. Parklands United Sports Club is a football club in Christchurch, New Zealand. History Parklands United was first formed as ''North Beach Soccer Club'' in 1967.
