Albert Burrage
Albert Cameron Burrage (November 21, 1859 – June 29, 1931), known as A. C. Burrage, was an industrialist, attorney, horticulturist and philanthropist from the United States. Birth Albert Burrage was born on November 21, 1859, in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. His parents were George Sanderson and Aurelia Chamberlin Burrage. He moved to California with his parents when quite young and remained there until he was 18 years old. Early career After a short period of study in Europe he enrolled in Harvard College in 1879, graduating summa cum laude in 1883. He went on to the Harvard Law School, graduating the next year and was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in September 1884. He became counsel of the Brookline Gas Light Company in 1892. Michael Burrage
Billy Michael Burrage (born June 9, 1950), known as Michael Burrage, is an attorney and former United States district judge of all three districts of the United States district courts for Oklahoma: the Eastern, Western and Northern. He was appointed and confirmed in 1994 under President Bill Clinton. In 1996, he became Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Oklahoma, and served all three courts until his retirement in 2001. At that time, he returned to private practice, during which he also represented the Choctaw Nation as its general counsel and ambassador to the U.S. government. Sean Burrage
Sean Burrage currently serves as the Vice President for Executive Affairs at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Burrage was named as President of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma on May 15, 2014, by the Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents. He began his duties on July 1, 2014. An Antlers native, Burrage completed his second term as an Oklahoma State Senator (District 2) in May 2014. He did not seek a third term in office. Harold Burrage
Harold Edwin Burrage (March 30, 1931 – November 26, 1966) was an American blues and soul singer, pianist, songwriter, and record producer. Biography Born in Chicago, Illinois, Burrage did session work as a pianist in the 1950s and 1960s as well as recording under his own name. He released singles on Decca, Aladdin, States, and Cobra in the 1950s, and for Vee-Jay and M-Pac in the 1960s. Burrage's backing bands included the likes of Otis Rush, Willie Dixon, Wayne Bennett, and Jody Williams, while Burrage supported Magic Sam, Charles Clark, and others as a pianist. Burrage's first recording was "Hi-Yo Silver", written by Burrage and Claude Trenier, for Decca Records in 1950, backed by Horace Henderson's band. Clare Joanna Burrage is a British particle physicist at the University of Nottingham. She has made significant contributions to dark energy research, using astrophysical probes and interferometry. Early life and education Burrage attributes her love of cosmology to driving past the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory as a child. Steve Burrage (born July 7, 1952) is an American politician from Oklahoma and the Chairman of the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Burrage served as Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector upon his appointment to that post by Governor Brad Henry on July 10, 2008, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of former state auditor Jeff McMahan. Luke Burrage (born 26 August 1980) is a British juggler, musician, entertainer and author. He was born in Kent though lived most of his life in the north-east of England ( North Yorkshire, County Durham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne). He has lived in Berlin, Germany since 2005. Juggling Luke Burrage is a professional juggler who often works on cruise ships and at street show festivals in Europe. He is also very well known in the juggling community. Mildred Giddings Burrage (May 18, 1890 – March 26, 1983) was an American artist. A native of Portland, Maine, Burrage was the daughter of Henry S. Burrage and Ernestine Maie Giddings, his second wife. In childhood her mother supported her artistic endeavors, and at the age of twelve she began lessons with Alice H. Howes, a former pupil of Frank Weston Benson and William Merritt Chase. She graduated from Smith Grammar School and Cony High School before attending Mary Colman Wheeler's school in Providence, Rhode Island, where she was especially interest in the classes on art. Ronnie Burrage (born James Ronaldo Burrage October 19, 1959) is an American jazz drummer. His style draws from jazz, funk, and soul. Career He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Henry Sweetser Burrage
Henry Sweetser Burrage (January 7, 1837, Fitchburg, Massachusetts – March 9, 1926) was a United States clergyman, editor and author. Biography Burrage graduated from Brown in 1861, entered the 36th Massachusetts Regiment as a private, rose to the rank of captain, was wounded at Cold Harbor and brevetted major of volunteers, and became an assistant adjutant general on the staff. He was captured at Petersburg in November 1864, and held as a prisoner at Libby Prison until February 22, 1865. He resumed his studies at the close of the American Civil War, graduated from Newton Theological Seminary in 1867, spent a year abroad, and from 1869 to 1873 was pastor of the First Baptist Church in Waterville, Maine.
