Burnt Project 1 is a Canadians, Canadian First Nations in Canada, First Nations band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. An eleven-member musical collective, the band incorporates elements of rock music, blues music, blues, jazz, funk and traditional First Nations music into its style. African, Middle Eastern and Latin beats are also included in their songs, as is a big band sound from the horn section. History and influences Burnt Project 1 was formed in 2001 by Kiwizenz-Tawagun, aka David Boulanger, who includes in his influences Queens of the Stoneage, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley. Juno Awards Of 2006
The Juno Awards of 2006 were held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on the weekend of 31 March to 2 April 2006. These ceremonies honour music industry achievements in Canada during the previous year. The primary ceremonies were hosted by Pamela Anderson at the Halifax Metro Centre on 2 April and televised on CTV. Buck 65 was the ceremony's introduction and preview announcer. Duncan Mercredi
Duncan Mercredi (born 1951) is a Cree and Métis poet from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mercredi was born in Misipawistik Grand Rapids, Manitoba, where he grew up. At sixteen he moved to Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, where he attended high school and moved to Winnipeg shortly thereafter. He has written four volumes of poetry.
