Burnside Brewing Company was a brewery based in Portland, Oregon. History Established in 2010 by Jay Gilbert and Jason McAdam, the company hosted several beer festivals, including the Fruit Beer Festival each June and the Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest. Burnside was featured on the television series '' Man Finds Food'' in 2015. The company's pub, located at 701 E. Burnside, closed in 2019. Reception Burnside's Sweet Heat apricot wheat ale won gold at the Great American Beer Festival in 2012. In 2017, the company received three medals at the Best of Craft Beer Awards, as well as two Oregon Beer Awards. ''Man Finds Food'' (currently called ''Secret Eats'') is an American food reality television series that premiered on the Travel Channel on April 1, 2015. The series is hosted by food enthusiast Adam Richman who tracks down secret specialities in cities all over America. The show was scheduled to debut July 2, 2014, with episodes airing every Wednesday night at 9:00 pm ET, but Travel Channel delayed the program indefinitely after Richman posted crude messages on his Instagram account in response to people criticizing a hashtag he had used in one of his pictures. The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is an annual beer festival hosted by the Brewers Association, held in Denver, Colorado. Typically held in late September or early October, the event is currently held at Denver's Colorado Convention Center. Established in 1982, it is the largest ticketed beer festival in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world. History The GABF was founded by brewer Charlie Papazian, and the first festival was held in conjunction with the American Homebrewers Association's annual conference in Boulder, Colorado in June 1982, featuring 24 participating breweries and 47 beers.
