Burnie Dockers
Burnie Dockers Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Burnie, Tasmania, Australia. The club currently competes in the North West Football League (NWFL). Club history The Burnie Dockers were formed as a result of a merger between former TFL Statewide League club Burnie Hawks (formerly known as Cooee) and NTFL club the Burnie Tigers. After several years of bitter hatred in the city between the two rival clubs, both clubs were struggling both on-field and financially by the early 1990s. In late 1993 the Burnie Hawks absorbed the Burnie Tigers and merged, however the club still played as the Burnie Hawks until, with the arrival of former North Melbourne champion Peter German, the club adopted a new emblem, colours and jumper designed to appease both sides of the divide. The league was previously known as the "Northern Tasmanian Football League" from its inception in 1987 until the end of the 2014 season. Jason Laycock
Jason Laycock (born 4 November 1984) is an Australian rules football player. He played for the Essendon Football Club as a ruckman in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2004 to 2010. He was drafted by Essendon from East Devonport Football Club with the tenth overall selection in the 2002 National AFL Draft. Laycock was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star Medal in round five, 2005 before straining a calf muscle missed the last seven games of that season. In 2006, he suffered knee and foot injuries, which restricted him to six games. Laycock played 19 games in 2007 and a further 16 games in 2008. In 2009, he suffered another foot injury and missed the entire season. He was delisted by Essendon in 2010. Brad Pearce (footballer)
Brad Pearce (born 16 August 1971) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton and the Brisbane Bears in the Australian Football League (AFL). Pearce played both football and cricket as a junior, and after having focussed on cricket in 1987, where he played for the Victorian schoolboy team he returned to football in 1988 as part of the junior system, playing in the Victorian Under-17 Teal Cup team. He played with the St Kilda minor grades from 1988 until 1990, but injuries interrupted his progress to the senior grade for the club. In 1992, he played in the TFL Statewide League for the South Launceston Football Club, where impressive performances in the forward-line attracted the attention of AFL recruiters. Andrew Lee (Australian Footballer)
Andrew Dwayne Lee (born 1 July 1986) is an Australian rules footballer who played with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted from the Burnie Dockers, via the Tassie Mariners U18s and the Tasmanian Devils, with selection 30 in the 2004 Draft. Lee was captain of the Tassie Mariners U18 side in 2003 and 2004, and was ranked in the top 5 for the agility test at draft camp, which was an impressive effort for a taller, more solidly-built player. Lee's debut year at Essendon was marred by a serious case of osteitis pubis. He was the only senior-listed player at Essendon to fail to play a senior game in 2005. Tom Hislop
Tom Hislop (born 7 June 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club and Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the Essendon Football Club in 2006 at pick 20 in the 2006 AFL draft. He made his debut in Round 14 against and kicked a goal. However, he suffered a stress fracture prior to round 17 and missed the rest of the 2007 season. In 2008, Hislop injured his wrist and missed a few weeks but made his return with the VFL side, Bendigo Bombers in round 6. He returned to the senior team in round 7. Andrew Hill (footballer)
Andrew Hill (born 11 June 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hill, a Tasmanian, played for the Mariners in the TAC Cup. He wasn't selected in the 1998 national draft and in 1999 played with the Burnie Dockers in the Tasmanian Football League during which he represented Tasmania versus the Western Australian Football League (WAFL) in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. In the year 2000 he moved to the then stand alone Northern Bullants in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and impressed enough in his outings that he was signed by Collingwood for the 2001 and 2002 seasons before being delisted due to injury at the end of 2002. Brady Grey
Brady Grey (born 20 July 1995) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Drafted with the 58th selection in the 2013 AFL draft from the Burnie Dockers Football Club in the Tasmanian State League, he played for Peel Thunder in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), Fremantle's reserve team during the 2014 season before suffering a stress fracture in his back in July. Grey continued to play for Peel throughout 2015, and made his AFL debut for Fremantle in the final round of the 2015 AFL season, when Fremantle sent a weakened team to play Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Robbie Fox (born 16 April 1993) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Brad Davis (Australian Rules Footballer)
Bradley James Davis (born 18 July 1972) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Australian Football League (AFL). A ruckman, Davis started his career at the Burnie Hawks, from where he was drafted by Fitzroy. They selected him in the 1990 National Draft, with pick 27. He played four games for Fitzroy in 1991, but played just once more, in the opening round of the 1993 season. In 1994 he joined West Adelaide for a stint in the South Australian National Football League, then he returned to Tasmania and signed with the Burnie Dockers. Cameron Cloke
Cameron Cloke (born 20 December 1984) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club, Carlton Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the son of former and Collingwood player, David Cloke and the brother of Jason and Travis Cloke. AFL career Cloke was drafted under the father-son rule in the 2002 National draft. Like his older brother Jason, Cloke was given time to develop at Williamstown in his first year at Collingwood. Cloke made his debut against Essendon in 2004 and played mostly as a tall forward. North Hobart Oval
North Hobart Oval is a Stadium, sports venue in North Hobart, Tasmania, used for Australian rules football. History North Hobart Oval started its existence as Hobart Town's brickfields in 1844 before becoming a Brickfields Hiring Depot, convict women's housing site, an immigration depot and an invalid persons' depot before closing in 1882 whereby the land became a rubbish dump until it was acquired for construction of a football stadium in 1921. The first official match to take place on North Hobart Oval was a Tasmanian Football League, TFL match between Lefroy Football Club, Lefroy and Glenorchy Football Club, New Town on 6 May 1922, the match was won by Lefroy (9.8.62 to 7.13.55) before 1,000-people.
