Milk Cult
Milk Cult was an American, San Francisco-based, Electronic music, electronic band. Founded as a studio-only project in 1990, the band's nucleus comprises musicians Dale Flattum, Eric Holland and Mike Morasky. Morasky and Flattum are also known for being founding members of the noise rock, noise/industrial rock group Steel Pole Bath Tub, which the duo continued their involvement with concurrent to Milk Cult. Grotus
Grotus, stylized as G̈r̈oẗus̈, was an industrial rock band from San Francisco, active from 1989 to 1996. Their unique sound incorporated sampled Folk music, ethnic instruments, two drummers, two bassists, and featured angry but humorous lyrics. Biography The group started in 1989, when Adam Tanner and John Carson, burned out from failed rock bands, decided to make music for films, and bought 2 Akai S-950 samplers. Having technical difficulties, they asked their friend Lars Fox to help figure out how to use them, and Fox asserted himself as their singer. Their first songs came quickly, and the trio headed to Dancing Dog Studio in Emeryville, California, Emeryville, to record with David Bryson (soon to be a member of Counting Crows). A visit to radio station KUSF (defunct), KUSF's local music show yielded an invitation to perform at a showcase within a few weeks of starting. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Mike Morasky (born July 14, 1964) is an American composer, animator/visual effects artist, director and programmer. He is best known for his work at Valve composing the scores for ''Team Fortress 2'', the ''Left 4 Dead'' series, ''Portal 2'', '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' and '' Half-Life: Alyx''. He is also known for his visual effects work on ''The Lord of the Rings'' and ''The Matrix'' trilogies as well as founding the underground art bands Steel Pole Bath Tub, Milk Cult and DUH. Steel Pole Bath Tub was an American rock band, formed in 1986 in Bozeman, Montana, United States, by Mike Morasky (guitar/vocals) and Dale Flattum (bass/vocals). Band history Morasky and Flattum moved the band to Seattle, Washington, where Darren Mor-X (drums) joined the band, before they all moved to San Francisco, California. The Geraldine Fibbers were an alt-country band founded in 1994 by Carla Bozulich. Carla Ragin Bozulich (born December 24, 1965) is an American musician based in Los Angeles, known as the lead singer, lyricist and founder of The Geraldine Fibbers and Evangelista as well as a founding member of Ethyl Meatplow and Scarnella. The Geraldine Fibbers recorded two albums for Virgin Records. Their first album (''Lost Somewhere Between The Earth And My Home'') was described as "...a Country Feedback Masterpiece" by Vice (magazine) Bozulich's Evangelista project began in 2006. Neurosis (band)
Neurosis is an American avant-garde metal band from Oakland, California. It was formed in 1985 by guitarist Scott Kelly, bassist Dave Edwardson, and drummer Jason Roeder, initially as a hardcore punk band. Chad Salter joined as a second guitarist and appeared on the band's 1987 debut ''Pain of Mind'' before being replaced by Steve Von Till in 1989. The following year, the lineup further expanded to include a keyboardist and a visual artist. Beginning with their third album ''Souls at Zero'' (1992), Neurosis transformed their hardcore sound by incorporating diverse influences including doom metal and industrial music, becoming a major force in the emergence of the post-metal and sludge metal genres.
