Milk Cult
Milk Cult was an American, San Francisco-based, Electronic music, electronic band. Founded as a studio-only project in 1990, the band's nucleus comprises musicians Dale Flattum, Eric Holland and Mike Morasky. Morasky and Flattum are also known for being founding members of the noise rock, noise/industrial rock group Steel Pole Bath Tub, which the duo continued their involvement with concurrent to Milk Cult. Milk Cult is known for their found-sound experiments and dense Sampling (music), sample-based compositions, as well as their collaborations with numerous musical acts, including Faith No More, Jawbreaker (band), Jawbreaker, Grotus, Neurosis (band), Neurosis, Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 and Geraldine Fibbers, The Geraldine Fibbers. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The current lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton. Dave Edwardson
Dave Edwardson is an American musician who is the bassist and backing vocalist of Californian post-metal band Neurosis. He founded the band alongside Scott Kelly and Jason Roeder in 1985, and the group would later form experimental/noise group Tribes of Neurot, Neurosis' alter ego. Edwardson played as the guest bassist for most of Nailbomb's set at 1995's Dynamo Open Air festival. It was one of only two live performances by the band, and the recording was released in 1996 as the album ''Proud to Commit Commercial Suicide''. In 2002, he released the album ''Seize the Day'' with Oakland punk rock band The Enemies on Lookout! Records. Paul Reller
Paul Reller is a composer of contemporary classical music (including a large output of electro-acoustic works) and experimental rock musician. He has been an Associate Professor of Music at the University of South Florida since 1990, where he is the director of SYCOM, the USF School of Music's suite of electronic music studios. Reller earned a BM at the University of Minnesota and Master's degree at Eastman School of Music. He is one of the progenitors of the BONK festival of new music in the Tampa Bay area and has had pieces recorded by Bang on a Can. Blake Schwarzenbach
Alexander Blake Schwarzenbach (born May 21, 1967) is an American musician. He is the singer and guitarist of Jawbreaker (1986–1996; 2017–present), and was also a member of Jets to Brazil (1997–2003), The Thorns of Life (2008–2009), and forgetters (2009–2013). Although experiencing little mainstream success himself, Schwarzenbach and groups he has been a member of have influenced a variety of musical groups. Carla Ragin Bozulich (born December 24, 1965) is an American musician based in Los Angeles, known as the lead singer, lyricist and founder of The Geraldine Fibbers and Evangelista as well as a founding member of Ethyl Meatplow and Scarnella. The Geraldine Fibbers recorded two albums for Virgin Records. Lars Fox
Grotus, stylized as G̈r̈oẗus̈, was an industrial rock band from San Francisco, active from 1989 to 1996. Their unique sound incorporated sampled ethnic instruments, two drummers, two bassists, and featured angry but humorous lyrics. Biography The group started in 1989, when Adam Tanner and John Carson, burned out from failed rock bands, decided to make music for films, and bought 2 Akai S-950 samplers. Having technical difficulties, they asked their friend Lars Fox to help figure out how to use them, and Fox asserted himself as their singer. Their first songs came quickly, and the trio headed to Dancing Dog Studio in Emeryville, to record with David Bryson (soon to be a member of Counting Crows). Billy Gould
William David Gould (born April 24, 1963 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and producer. He is best known as the bassist of Faith No More. Biography Early years Billy said he is of Hungarian descent from his father's side. Faith No More Gould started playing the bass while he was at Loyola High School in Los Angeles with future Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum. His first band during these early years was named "The Animated," a genre-bending new wave outfit that sounded something like a cross between The Buzzcocks, XTC and Michael Jackson. The Geraldine Fibbers were an alt-country band founded in 1994 by Carla Bozulich.
