In 2008, Metrolinx proposed a rapid transit corridor on Brant Street in Burlington, Ontario as part of their regional transportation plan called '' The Big Move''. Rapid transit on Brant Street was to provide connections to GO Transit's Lakeshore West line, and the proposed Dundas Street BRT. Burlington is a city in the Regional Municipality of Halton at the northwestern end of Lake Ontario in Ontario, Canada. Along with Milton to the north, it forms the western end of the Greater Toronto Area and is also part of the Hamilton metropolitan census area. The Big Move
The Big Move is the regional transportation plan (RTP) published by Metrolinx for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) in Ontario, Canada. It makes specific recommendations for transit projects, resulting from seven "green papers" and two "white papers" released for public discussion. A draft RTP was released alongside draft investment strategy in September 2008. Lakeshore West Line
Lakeshore West is one of the seven train lines of the GO Transit system in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. It extends from Union Station in Toronto to Hamilton, with occasional trips extending to St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. Dundas Street bus rapid transit is a proposed bus rapid transit (BRT) corridor proposed by Metrolinx for the western part of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area in Southern Ontario, Canada. The City of Mississauga used the brand Dundas Connects during the development phase. Dundas Street is a major historic arterial road in Ontario, Canada. The road connects the city of Toronto with its western suburbs and several cities in southwestern Ontario. Three provincial highways— 2, 5, and 99—followed long sections of its course, although these highway segments have since been downloaded to the municipalities they passed through. Burlington GO Station
Burlington GO Station is a railway station and bus station in the GO Transit network, located at 2101 Fairview Street in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, just south of Queen Elizabeth Way between Guelph Line and Brant Street. Overview It is a stop on the Lakeshore West line train service, and was, for a time, the western terminus of the rail services. Most peak-hour and off-peak trains now terminate service at or , and a few trains link Hamilton GO further to the west.
