Burke Lake Park
Burke Lake Park is a public park located in Fairfax Station, Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. It encompasses Burke Lake. The Fairfax County public park is owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). It was built on land that was purchased by the federal government in the 1950s for an international airport, before the site of Dulles Airport was chosen as a replacement. Recreation The park offers many recreation facilities, including miniature golf, a carousel, a miniature train, an ice cream parlor, a fishing pier, campgrounds, and numerous playgrounds and picnic areas. Around the lake is a 4.68 mile (7.53 km) unpaved trail that is suitable for both cyclists and pedestrians. There is a marina, where visitors can rent boats to take on the water. Burke Lake is a freshwater reservoir in Fairfax Station, Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. It is contained within Burke Lake Park, a Fairfax County public park owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). Burke Lake is formed by a dam on South Run, a tributary stream of the Potomac River. Fairfax County permits visitors to use the lake for fishing, electric-motor, and paddle/row boating.
