Burj Ran Singh
Burj Ran Singh ( pa, ਬੁਰਜ ਰਣ ਸਿੰਘ, Shahmukhi and ur, بر ج رن سنگھ), also spelled as Burj Ran Singh Wala, is a village in the Chunian Tehsil of Kasur District in West Punjab (Pakistan). It is named after third Chief of Nakai Misl ''Sardar Ran Singh Nakai''. Geography Burj Ran Singh is located at in the Chunian Tehsil of Kasur District in Punjab, Pakistan. During British rule it used to fall under Lahore District. Personalities Syed Ali Hussain Naqvi a landlord and a politician also belongs to the village. Kasur District
Kasur District ( Punjabi and ur, , translit=Zilā Qasūr), is a district located in Lahore Division of Punjab, Pakistan. It came into existence on 1 July 1976. Prior to its creation, it was a tehsil of the Lahore District. The district capital is Kasur city, the birth city of the Sufi poet Bulleh Shah, who is well known in that region as well as in the whole of Pakistan. Shahmukhi (, ) is a Persian alphabet, Perso-Arabic alphabet script used historically by Punjabi Muslims (primarily in present-day Punjab, Pakistan, Pakistani Punjab) to write the Punjabi language. It is generally written in the Nastaʿlīq Calligraphy, calligraphic hand, which is also used for Urdu. Shahmukhi script is used in Punjab, Pakistan, Pakistani Punjab as the official script for writing Punjabi language, Punjabi. Jagat Singh Jagga
Jagat Singh Virk( 1901/02–1931/32), better known as Jagga Jatt or Jagga Daku, was a 20th-century heroic rebel of Punjab. He is known as the Robin Hood of Punjab for "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor", as is typically believed about Robin Hood as well. Early life Jagga was born as Jagat Singh Virk in 1901/02 in a Virk Jat family, in Dasuwal, Punjab to father Sardar Makhan Singh Virk and mother Bhagan, in British India. In village Burj Ran Singh, most families were Muslim Telis and only 17 or 18 families were of Sidhu Jats . Jagga had two sisters and he was the only son of Makhan Singh. Jagga owned 10 Murabba (250 acres) of land so he was not asked to do much work by his uncle and mother. Sardar Makhan Singh Virk and Bhaagan had six children before Jagga but none of them survived. Sri Muktsar Sahib (/ʃriː ˈmʊktsər saːhɪb/) (often referred to as Muktsar (/ˈmʊktsər/)) is a historical city and district headquarters in Punjab, India. The 2011 Census of India put the total population of Sri Muktsar Sahib municipality to 117,085, making it the 14th largest city of Punjab, in terms of population. Historically known as Khidrana or Khidrane di dhab, the city was made the district headquarters in 1995. Chronological evidence indicates that the city was named Muktsar after the battle of Muktsar in 1705. Toba Tek Singh
Toba Tek Singh ( pnb, , ur, ) is a city and capital of Toba Tek Singh District in the Pakistani province of Punjab. It is surrounded by cities of Gojra, Kamalia, Rajana, Pir Mahal and Shorkot. History The city and district is named after a Sikh religious figure Tek Singh. Legend has it that Mr. Singh, a kind hearted man, served water and provided shelter to the worn out and thirsty travelers passing by a small Pond ("toba" in Punjabi) which eventually was called Toba Tek Singh, and the surrounding settlement acquired the same name. British Raj Toba Tek Singh was developed by the British toward the end of the 19th Century when a canal system was built.
