Josiah Burchett
Josiah Burchett (c.1665 – 2 October 1746), of Hampstead, Middlesex, was a British naval administrator and Whig politician, who sat in the English and British House of Commons between 1705 and 1741. He was Secretary of the Admiralty in England, a position he held for almost fifty years from 26 September 1694 to 14 October 1742. In addition to his administrative duties, he was the author of the first general history of the Royal Navy, published in 1720 and based on official Admiralty records. Early life Burchett was probably the eldest surviving son of John Burchett of Sandwich and his second wife Katherine. He married on 24 December 1695, Thomasine Honywood, daughter of Sir William Honywood, 2nd Baronet. Wilfred Burchett
Wilfred Graham Burchett (16 September 1911 – 27 September 1983) was an Australian journalist known for being the first western journalist to report from Hiroshima after the dropping of the atomic bomb, and for his reporting from "the other side" during the wars in Korea and Vietnam. Burchett began his journalism at the start of the Second World War, during which he reported from China, Burma and Japan and covered the war in the Pacific. After the war he reported on the trials in Hungary, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and on Cambodia under Pol Pot. During the Korean war he investigated and supported claims by the North Korean government that the US had used germ warfare. He was the first western journalist to interview Yuri Gagarin after Gagarin's historic first flight into outer space (Vostok 1). Timothy Floyd Burchett (born August 25, 1964) is an American politician who is the U.S. representative for , based in Knoxville, serving since 2019. A Republican, Burchett was formerly mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. He served in the Tennessee General Assembly, first in the Tennessee House of Representatives, in which he represented Tennessee's 18th district. He later served in the Tennessee State Senate, representing the 7th district, part of Knox County. James Charles Sholto Burchett Queen's Counsel, born in Goodooga, New South Wales, on 11 October 1930, died 30 September 2012, was Justice of the Federal Court of Australia between June 1985 and October 2000 and was president of the Australian Copyright Tribunal. George "Professor" Burchett (23 August 1872 – 3 April 1953) was an English tattoo artist known as the "King of Tattooists". Profile Burchett was born George Burchett-Davis on 23 August 1872 in the English seaside town of Brighton, East Sussex. He was expelled from school at age 12 for tattooing his classmates. Mark Burchett (April 20, 1960 – July 12, 2014) was a Hollywood film director, screenwriter and film producer of horror movies. Early life Burchett was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was educated at Lakota High School in West Chester, Ohio and the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Broadcasting and Film. During high school he was active at the school's radio station, WLHS, as well as the drama department, where he wrote and directed a student-run play in his senior year. Burchetts Green is a small village to the west of Maidenhead in the English county of Berkshire. It is half in the civil parish of Hurley and half in the civil parish of Bisham. According to the Post Office, in the 2011 census, the majority of the population was included in the civil parish of Bray. The Berkshire College of Agriculture is located there and includes Hall Place, which was built in 1728 by William East, a wealthy London lawyer. Burchetts Green School was originally built as a chapel in 1868 on land donated by the Clayton-East family. It is an infant school with around 50 pupils.
