Buraphaphirom Palace
Buraphaphirom Palace ( th, วังบูรพาภิรมย์) was situated in Bangkok, Thailand, this palace was built to be the residence of Prince Bhanurangsi Savangwongse, the origin of the royal family surname Bhanubandhu. The palace was built in the year 1875 according to the order of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) with a colonial style by Italian architect Joachim Grassi. Its name means ''"Delightful East Palace"'', regarded as another palace that was very grand. After World War II, it became an abandoned palace. It was rented as Bhanuthat girls' school. Later, the heir of the prince therefore decided to sell it to businessman Osot Kosin in the year 1951 with a price of nearly 13 million baht to build as a new shopping and entertainment districts. Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre
Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre ( th, ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง;) was originally a movie theatre in Bangkok, Thailand built in Modernist style on Charoengkrung Road. It was opened on 3 July 1933. After serving as a cinema for many years it now hosts performances of classical Thai dance. History Construction of Sala Chalermkrung theatre was sponsored by King Prajadhipok as part of the celebrations in 1932 to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of Bangkok. The name Sala Chalermkrung derives from this, meaning 'Pavilion to Celebrate the City'. The King was himself an enthusiastic supporter of movies and invested 9,000,000 Baht of his personal funds to construct the theatre. Wang Burapha
Wang Burapha ( th, วังบูรพา, ) is a historic neighbourhood in Bangkok, regarded as the first commercial and entertainment district in contemporary Thailand (after 1932 revolution). It is situated between Charoen Krung, Maha Chai, Phahurat, Tri Phet and Burapha roads, near the eastern edge of the old city centre of Rattanakosin Island in Wang Burapha Phirom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon District. The neighbourhood is named after Buraphaphirom Palace, which used to be located here until the 1950s, when it was demolished to make way for commercial developments.
