Burlingham is an unincorporated community in northern Bedford Township, Meigs County, Ohio, United States named for the area's first postmaster. Burlingham allegedly received the nickname of "Bungtown" in the late 1800 when the local women became upset with their husbands for spending too much time at the local saloon and knocked all of the bungs out of the whiskey barrels. The Fatalii is a cultivar of the chilli pepper '' Capsicum chinense'' developed in southern or central Africa from chilies introduced from the Americas. Shade is an unincorporated community in southern Lodi Township, Athens County, Ohio, United States. It has a post office with the ZIP code 45776. It lies along U.S. Route 33. History A post office called Shade was established in 1837, and remained in operation until 1996. In 1880, Shade had 175 inhabitants. The place name is apparently derived from the Middle Branch of the Shade River which lies about two miles from the village.
