Ferry Road is a road in Southport, on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Originally a suburban street, it is now part of Southport – Burleigh Road, a state controlled road (State Route 3) Geography Ferry Road is a continuation of High Street, Southport. It runs for about to the intersection with Slatyer Avenue and Thomas Drive, from where it continues as Bundall Road. There are no major intersections on this road. History In 1887, German immigrant Johann Meyer operated a ferry across the Nerang River. From Southport, travellers would follow the Meyer's Ferry Road (now simply Ferry Road) to a spit of land that created a narrow point in the river (). The narrow spit is no longer in existence due to changes in the river and the creation of Chevron Island but is in the vicinity of the Gold Coast Arts Centre. Bermuda Street
Bermuda Street is a road on the Gold Coast from Bundall to Burleigh Heads in Queensland, Australia. Originally a suburban street, it is now part of Southport–Burleigh Road, a state controlled road (State Route 3) The highest point of the road is 22 metres at the junction with the Pacific Motorway in Burleigh Heads (Southern End). Bermuda Street is the southern extension of Bundall Road (a much older thoroughfare) across the Nerang River and through many newer suburbs to the Pacific Motorway at Burleigh Heads. Bundall is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bundall had a population of 4,523 people. Geography Bundall is bounded by the Slayter Road to the north (), Bundall Road to the east (), Nerang River to the south-east and south (), and an unnamed canal from the Nerang River to the south-west and west (). Sorrento is a neighbourhood within the south of Bundall (). It takes its name from a canal real estate development on the Nerang River that created 800 waterfront blocks and 400 "dry" blocks. The northernmost part of the suburb near the canals is also used for housing. There are commercial buildings to the north of Ashmore Road and the west of Bundall Road. Southport–Burleigh Road is a road in the city of Gold Coast in the Australian state of Queensland. It is designated as State Route 3 and runs from Southport to Burleigh Heads. It includes four former suburban streets, which are still known locally by their original names.
