Alan Bunce
Alan Coe Bunce (June 28, 1900 – April 27, 1965) was an American radio and television actor. Bunce was best remembered for playing the role of Albert Arbuckle alongside Peg Lynch on the sitcom ''Ethel and Albert'' from 1944-50 on radio and from 1953-1956 on television. Bunce was also remembered as the first actor to portray physician Jerry Malone on radio's ''Young Doctor Malone'' in the early 1940s. Early life Alan Coe Bunce was born on June 28, 1900 in Westfield, New Jersey. His year of birth had been the subject of dispute, with varying sources citing 1902, 1903, and 1908. However, according to the Bunce family papers which were published publicly in 2008 by Bunce's grandson Andrew Bunce, the Bunce family has found evidence and have accepted Bunce's birth date to be June 28, 1900. Leela Bunce (born 17 December 1980) is director of ShineTime (an organization which promotes stress relieving benefits of laughter) and a regular on the chatshow and radio circuit. Shapcott Wensley was the pseudonym of the English author and poet Henry Shapcott Bunce (1854 – 1 June 1917). Life He was born in Bristol in the summer of 1854. He died in Bristol on 1 June 1917. He married a singer, Alice Mary Wensley, and they had one daughter, Gertrude. By profession he was a clerk in a soap works. Chauncey Bunce Brewster
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Chauncey Bunce Brewster (September 5, 1848 – April 9, 1941) was the fifth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut. Early life and education Brewster was born in Windham, Connecticut, to the Rev. Joseph Brewster and Sarah Jane Bunce. His father was rector of St Paul's Church in Windham, New York, and later became rector of Christ Church in New Haven, Connecticut. His younger brother was Benjamin Brewster, later Bishop of Western Colorado. The family were descendants of the ''Mayflower'' passenger William Brewster. Brewster attended Hopkins Grammar School before studying at Yale College, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of the Skull and Bones society. William Newman Bunce (17 April 1911 – 29 May 1981) played first-class cricket for Somerset in 14 matches in the 1936 and 1937 seasons. He was born and died at Pill, Somerset. Bunce was a left-handed middle- or lower-order batsman and an occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler. He played in five matches in the 1936 season, all of them away from Somerset, without much success, but did better in his nine games in 1937, scoring 185 runs at an average of 18.50 runs per innings. His highest score came in one of only three home games he played in his Somerset career: against Kent at Bath he batted at No 10 and made 46, putting on 93 with Wally Luckes, who made his maiden century, 121 not out.
