Bulla Ki Jaana
''Bullah Ki Jaana'' ( pa, بُلّھا کیہ جاݨاں (Shahmukhi), ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਾਂ (Gurmukhi)) is one of the most-known Kafi poems written by the Punjabi Sufi saint Bulleh Shah. In the 1990s Junoon, a rock band from Pakistan, rendered "Bullah Ki Jaana". In 2005, Rabbi Shergill's rock/fusion version of ''Bullah Ki Jaana'' became a chart-topper in India and Pakistan. The Wadali Brothers, a Punjabi Sufi group from India, have also released a version of "Bullah Ki Jaana" on their album ''Aa Mil Yaar... Call of the Beloved''. Another version was performed by Lakhwinder Wadali and entitled Bullah. The poem was also rendered by Arieb Azhar in his debut album "Wajj". Shahmukhi
Shahmukhi (, ) is a Persian alphabet, Perso-Arabic alphabet script used historically by Punjabi Muslims (primarily in present-day Punjab, Pakistan, Pakistani Punjab) to write the Punjabi language. It is generally written in the Nastaʿlīq Calligraphy, calligraphic hand, which is also used for Urdu. Shahmukhi script is used in Punjab, Pakistan, Pakistani Punjab as the official script for writing Punjabi language, Punjabi. Arieb Azhar
Arieb Azhar (born 1972) is a Pakistani musician known for his renderings of traditional Sufi poetry and folk songs. Early life Arieb Azhar was born on 30 June 1972 at Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is the second son of Aslam Azhar, known as the father of Pakistani television due to his pioneering work in the early years of television in Pakistan. Arieb Azhar was exposed to folk and classical Pakistani music as well to western classical music at home. He went to the Soviet Union at the age of 17 for studies but left soon, disillusioned by what he called the "corrupt system" pervasive there. He then spent 13 years of his life in Zagreb, Croatia (earlier part of Yugoslavia at the time he migrated) where he became "completely integrated" and received his higher education in Indology and philosophy while performing music. Lakhwinder Wadali is an Indian musician and singer, who hails from a family of musicians from Punjab, India.His grandfather Thakur Dass Wadali was a renowned vocalist and his father and uncle formed a Sufi qawwali duo, the Wadali brothers. Lakhwinder received extensive training and guidance in classical music from his father Puran Chand Wadali. His songs blend classical and current trends in music. Gurmukhī ( pa, ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ, , Shahmukhi: ) is an abugida developed from the Laṇḍā scripts, standardized and used by the second Sikh guru, Guru Angad (1504–1552).
